I don't care if an older woman Prefers younger men. If they are adults than that's their business.
And I think that many older women have relationships with younger men..like >10 years.
But I think that society is down on women who do it. Even when they are just 2 people who like each other and decided to see each other. The woman is called a cougar like she was hunting and he was dinner. Or like she was corrupting him.
What do you think?
And is there a name for the Man in this relationship? :)

I do not think that there is anything wrong with an older women and a younger man relation ship,It between to consenting adults, When my youngest son was 22 ,her dated a 44 year old women. He bought her home and she was treated the same as if she was 22 years old ,also. She was my son's choice not mine and none of my business.
But I was a tad jealous as she was a good looking Women!!!

I had never heard the term "cougar", but it makes sense. If a young woman is called "kitten" and if people make comments about women being "catty", then an experienced woman on the prowl can be a "cougar".
I have no problem with that term. I also have no problem with the older woman - younger man scenario. Who cares what any one else thinks. When you get to the age where you could be the older woman, then you have also come to terms with your femininity and your sexuality.
It's also true that a woman hits her sexual peak at about 35-40 years old. If a man hits his peak in his late teens to mid-20's, well . . . what's the problem.
A name for the male half of the relationship? We'll just call him "Dam lucky".

You're thinking about Age of Love, aren't you?
Well, I frankly think its their own business. If she likes younger men and he prefers older women, who cares? I live and let live. But you're right, society does seem to disapprove of such women, (funnily enough, they are amused, not offended, by men who seek older women,).
As for the cougars, I took it more to mean they were aggressive and experienced, mature women who we could rely on more than we can rely on a helpless kitten. I think its more of a compliment.
The man? I call him the "Smirker"
Edit - Hi there. Age of Love is a show that starred tennis star Mark Phillipouses (aged in his 30s) as the object of affection for a group of 40 plus women (the COUGARS) and a group of 20 plus women (KITTENS). The show focused on how the two groups pretty much competed in really awful ways to win his love. He eventually went with a 20 year old girl.

I personally don't think there is anything wrong with so-called "cougars" as love/relationships have no age once you are of legal/permitting age.
I think society has a problem when older women have relations with underaged boys though, I've heard it in the news...and it's disturbing.
But, if you're 18 and an old lady is your thing then go for it ;{D

why would it be wrong, unless of course you do this as a contest. I happen to think that having sex with mature women is very cool especially since you can have a conversation that follows a logical thought process. To call this cougar hunting is definitely a sign of true low self esteem anytime you go looking for as you say the easiest of the "pack" and just for conquest over a woman you disrespect not just her but men in general. As a man I say get real. Sex is an experience that should be equally enjoyed by the willing participants. Definitely not some hormone driven weak willed punk who thinks its OK to use women as trophies to brag to other like minded *******. reaper out...................

I don't think there is anything wrong with cougars. A woman's sex drive peaks at an older age than men. So it is natural that women would seek a male that is right around sexual peak as well. Older men who are past their sexual peak seek younger women so why shouldn't women do the same.

Ain't nothin' wrong with cougars. I've never been involved with any, but I've met some.
And I'm betting the men they're with like them plenty well.

I think you are over reacting. Women who prefer younger men are in the tail of the distribution of human sexual behavior. I do not think it is as looked down upon as it is rare behavior.
Dear Sigy. How do you know? Have you done a statistical analysis of the entire population? Some have and it is a tail behavior.
