this has been asked in the past, the clarification is with the help of the fact if the vehicle replaced into geared up and geared for decrease than we could say seventy 5 mph good speed then once you have been on the interstate the RPMs may well be very extreme and incredibly much purple lining which might kill your gas mileage and positioned on the engine plenty faster, in case you're making them so they are in a position to flow one hundred or greater effective than occurring the interstate may well be cruising, does no longer even go over 2,000 RPM, so your gas mileage merely isn't harm and greater proper however the engine does no longer get just about as plenty positioned on and tear on it meaning it is going to final longer, i used to have an 86 chevy finished length truck with basically eighty 5 on the speedometer, while i might positioned it on the interstate it replaced into working extreme RPMs and replaced into killing the gas mileage like i stated, however the truck I rather have now nonetheless basically has one hundred on the speedometer yet i will cruise seventy 5-eighty and nonetheless be under 2,000 with out difficulty on a similar time as the previous 86 replaced into probably over 3,000 RPM (undecided because of the fact it did no longer have a tach, had to shift by employing ear)

A low performance car is more likeley to get into bother.
I used to have a 5 litre turbo Transam in the Mid-East.
OK, it would do 160 mph on a dead straight desert road, but got me out of trouble in town when an accident occured in front of me. Just step on the gas with full lock, and it pointed the other way, in a cloud of tyre smoke.
In the UK, though, I fail to see the point of my mates' Ferrari, capable of 200mph. He says it is the 0-70 acceleration thing.
But it is still in 2nd gear.
You may have a 100watt amplifier on your sound system, but leave it set low for quality sound.
Same thing I suppose.

Let's say you've got a car that is only capable of doing 70.
It'll be right at the limit of its performance most of the time. In other words, it'll be thrashed - wouldn't last 5 minutes. My car does 150, and at 70 it's a dream, no drama at all.

1) They accelerate better.
2) They have more urge going up hills.
3) You ain't flogging the guts out of a small engine all the time.
4) They are more pleasurable to drive even at the speed limits.
Nuff said?

There are places with no speed limits (some German Autobahnen, race tracks).
Cars are not designed and built for use on UK roads only.

Asked the same question the other day, beat answer, as paul w says, the car is safer than a less powerfull one. Plus there are other counties. Isle of Mann has no upper limit, Saudi, Germany, parts of the US (I think), have no limit.
Do you drive?

The same reason that they make diamond necklaces that cost 10 million. It isn't practicial to wear it to the grocery store and mainly must be viewed as a status symbol.
Besides, I think it's still legal to put the petal to the metal in Gemany on the Autobahn.
