Please don't read further if you're easily grossed out. I have an ingrown pubic hair and it hurts really bad. Yesterday I got of the shower and this gross brown stuff was coming out of it. I've been putting antibiotic cream on it three times a day, but it still hurts really bad. I've had it for three days. Any suggestions for relieving the pain and healing it faster? Thanks!

lol, good thing it's an anonymous forum, eh? You're just going to have to get a pair of tweezers and pluck the hair out. It won't hurt any worse and it'll heal it up in a flash.

This isn't just ingrown, it's infected. You can try pulling the hair out with tweezers and then cleansing the wound with antibiotic ointment, and then cover it with a band-aid.

In general, there are many products you can use to ease ingrown hairs. I've heard that strippers use Neosporin as a shaving gel, and Tendskin is a terrific after-shave toner available at many beuaty stores like PureBeauty.

It won't heal until you get the hair out of there. Clean some tweezers with rubbing alcohol or boil them. Squeeze out the yucky stuff and get the hair out. Apply Polysporin and leave it alone. If you're squeamish about the pain, put some Ambesol on it first. Try to go commando for a few days and wear loose pants while it heals. Good luck!

you have to remove the hair or else it wont go away. warm it up with a hot wet towel once it is soft take a mirror under you where you can see it and try to use tweezers to break the skin covering over it then grab the hair and pull it out. it will hurt but it will heal once the hair is gone.(usually takes about 3 days) you can put penicillin pomade over it they sell it in the pharmacy.

You can try applying a warm, wet face towel to the area but I would also recommend having your doctor evaluate this further. Whenever I get one of these I have to let my doctor remove it because when I try to do it myself it causes even more pain.
