They were too hard for my son...
Beachnut makes "Puffs" that literally melt as soon as they hit your tongue...they worked much better than Cheerios.

My 6 month old likes gerber puffs.. they come in different flavors and dissolve in the mouth.
cherios are too hard and the baby has to have some teeth in order to eat those.. So try the puffs, you dont have to worry as much about him choking, they melt.

My daughter could eat cheerios at 6 months and she didn't even have one tooth. They dissolve so easy. Of course you have to keep your eye on them to make sure that they dont choke. I would try it if I was you. Good Luck.
P.S. it is the perfect take along snack and is good for them.

i do no longer know abut warm canines....merely be careful approximately reducing up all meals into tiny products. you could feed him something, yet merely initiate out slowly, to make helpful he's not allergic to something. i do no longer know in case you have fed him any genuine foodstuff earlier, in case you haven't any longer, attempt apple sauce, mashed bananas, or mash up any foodstuff which you have around the abode. initiate with skinny consistancy, then bypass thicker as time is going on, so he gets used to the textures.and attempt to make healthy and occasional fat. additionally, i might make a log of what he's served before everything, so if he does have a reaction, you ought to discern it out. No popcorn, grapes or nuts.

I beleive so because at this age they aren't as good at chewing and just swallow and it could get stuck in the throut and could choke. I would try and wait till about a year for those. They also say wait till after they can crawl to give them finger food like graham cracker sticks, gerber wagon wheels or ritz crackers, they also like cut green beans and sliced carrots or peaches.

The PLAIN ones not, not, not the honey nut ones (honey and nuts = bad *lol*)
Other than that it isn't a problem as they don't contain wheat (last I checked, although they aren't guaranteed wheat free).
As long as you do not help your son generally a baby can not put food in their mouth that they can't chew/gum, nor move food back with their tongue to swallow it until they have developed the ability to chew. Obviously don't hand him a bowl of cheerios and walk away though. So don't "help" him by placing them in his mouth nor tipping him back.
Also almost all babies are on table food long before they have molars on both the top and bottom. Molars (or that part of the gum) are the only part of the mouth used for chewing. One does not and can not chew with their front teeth. Most babies start table food between 9-12 months, and don't even start to get molars until 12-18 months.
Personally I don't offer any grains until 9 months as they are very hard to digest and very low in zinc, protein and fat. Enzymes needed to digest grains are also the last to reach adult levels. However I am certainly in the minority in withholding grains.

Many parents worry about babies choking. However, there is good reason to believe that babies are at less risk of choking if they are in control of what goes into their mouth than if they are spoon fed. This is because babies are not capable of intentionally moving food to the back of their throats until after they have learnt to chew. And they do not develop the ability to chew until after they have developed the ability to reach out and grab things. Thus, a very young baby cannot easily put himself at risk because he cannot get the food into his mouth in the first place. On the other hand, the action used to suck food off a spoon tends to take the food straight to the back of the mouth, causing the baby to gag. This means that spoon feeding has its own potential to lead to choking – and makes one wonder about the safety of giving lumpy foods off a spoon.
It appears that a baby's general development keeps pace with the development of his ability to manage food in his mouth, and to digest it. A baby who is struggling to get food into his mouth is probably not quite ready to eat it. It is important to resist the temptation to 'help' the baby in these circumstances since his own developmental abilities are what ensure that weaning takes place at the right pace for him. This process is also what helps to keep him safe from choking on small pieces of food, since, if he is not yet able to pick up small objects using his finger and thumb, he will not be able to get, for example, a pea or a raisin into his mouth. Once he is able to do this, he will almost certainly have developed the necessary oral skills to deal with it. Putting foods into a baby's mouth for him overrides this natural protection and may increase the risk of choking.
