I'm almost 29 and childless. I've been thinking alot lately about getting my tubes tied cuz my bf doesn't want to have another kid, but he might change his mind like within next year or 2. Is this a good idea? Can the reversal be done? If so, how effective is it? How long would I have to wait to become pregnant? PLEASE HELP!!!

If you have ANY doubt about wanting kids, I would not get my tubes tied. You need to know 100% for sure that you will NEVER want kids. You may not spend the rest of your life with your current boyfriend, you may meet someone else and you may want children with them. Besides you are still young, I wouldn't do it if you're not for sure.

First off, I wouldn't suggest it. However if you did decide to do it, you would have a hard time finding a doctor that will do it before the age of 35, and/or before having 3 children. They get tired of doing reversals. It's a very expensive and invasive procedure, and doesn't always work properly. If I were you, I would suggest not getting your tubes tied. If you and your bf decide at 35 that you no longer want kids, then he needs to go have a vasectomy. It will be much easier on the both of you.

Darlin' do you want kids? If you do I don't suggest getting your tubes tied because you can't get a reversal done. I understand you are respecting your boyfriend's wishes but what if something happens and you aren't with him anymore and you have your tubes tied. You meet someone who does want kids and you can't. Just keep using protection and be careful. Just don't get the operation done because you may regret it. I wish you the best of luck hun and take care.

maybe u need another mate who wants what u want, be very careful with what u do to your productive organs my best to u now if u feel u dont want children then do u do u hell nowadays women are having babies a lot later in life my first was when i was 30 my 3rd when i was 41 & i never thought about children when i was in my early 20's having too much fun enjoying my life so whatever floats your boat :)

u should not get them tied because who said u will be with him the rest of your life u might meet somebody else who might want kids i had my done but clip and burt i regreat it now i found the man i want to spend the rest of my life with and he wants a child now but i cant give him one now we are planing on getting the reversal done it cost over 6 thousand but we going to do it in most cases it doesnt take long to get preggo its depend on your body

If he's the one that doesn't want kids he should get a vasectomy. It's also much easier to reverse.
