NOO... sorry not yelling just shocked someone said that! NO semen does NOT eat the placenta. Semen helps sometimes bring on labor because it is known to start your cervix to have contractions. Your placenta is safe.

NO, that's not true. The placenta is inside your bag of water and semen doesn't get anywhere near it. The prostiglandin (sp?) in semen can help ripen the cervix, which can help bring on labor if a woman is already close.

Semen doesn't hurt the placenta. When you are in late pregnancy, it can help to thin out the cervix, but it does not affect the placenta.

Where is this crazy website? Is it the same one that says not to get on your hands and knees?
The placenta, baby, and amniotic fluid are sealed off by the amniotic sac. The placenta works until the baby is born and then detaches.
Semen has prostaglandins in it, which theoretically will soften up the cervix.

the placenta is in the water sac not in your birth canall or cervix so no semen doesn't eat it. Semen only helps thin out your cervix and mucis pluc that is it.
