If I had to choose between the two I'd go with the squier.
Idealy though just I'd just pay a little bit more and get a fender strat, so much better than the squier version.

It actually depends on what type of music you play. If you are more into warm tones and classic rock, blues, etc., get the squier. If you are into heavier music like hard rock to metal, and need that crunch and grit, get the Ibanez. I personally use an Ibanez and i play classic rock/hard rock. But i like the Squier Esprit because of it's warm sound.
