My mom takes a paper plate and puts a little Lemon Joy Liquid Soap and water in it, it does somewhat attract the flies.
Good Luck!! :)

Get a toy fox terrier. When we got ours several years ago, the lady who sold him to us said we would never have a bug problem in our house again. And, she was right.
Whenever there's a fly in the house, the dog's supersonic hearing picks it up. Next thing you know, the dog's running all over the house chasing the fly. Eventually, the fly goes low enough for the dog to snap at it. He eats the ones he catches.
If I find a fly first, I just say, "Scooter, get the bug." and he goes into fly-trapping mode. Whenever he sees me pick up a fly swatter, he goes nuts and starts jumping and running around looking for the fly. If I swat one and it lands on the ground, he'll eat it.

1/4 of 1/2 water-filled plastic baggy hanging up over the doors / windows will keep flies from flying in/out.

How to Get Rid of House Fly
Get rid of flies
Despite being an annoyance, the common house fly (Musca domestica Linnaeus) will spread bacteria and disease, lay eggs in your produce, land on your face at night and keep you awake till the wee hours of the morning trying to escape from a window, but never learning that glass windows can't be flown through. In other words, flies are one of the most horrific of God's creatures, and if there was ever a time to suggest that our God might not be a good God, this is it. Below is some advice about how to get rid of the common house fly.
House fly control begins with your trash. Make sure you keep dumpsters and other outside trash receptacles as far away from your house as possible and try to keep their lids shut as tightly as possible. Dust dumpsters with borax occasionally to keep flies from breeding in them.
house fly picture 2Compost heaps can be used as a form of fly contol. If you want flies to stay away from your home, keep a compost heap several yards away from your house. Flies are an integral part of the decomposition process. You will kill two birds with one stone.
house fly picture 3Properly seated window screens is another fly control strategy. Go around your house and check your windows to ensure that there are no tears in your screens and that the screen frames sit flush with their fittings. Encourage kids not to keep doors and windows open too long.
house fly picture 4Fly control is impossible with a dirty kitchen. Flies are attracted to sugars and sweet foods. Make sure any messes from meals cooked in the kitchen are cleaned quickly. Use a water + bleach solution to wipe down counters and mop floors.
house fly picture 5Simple tasks like taking out the trash are forms of fly control. Take your trash out regularly. You should already be doing this. And if you're not? Well, you have bigger problems than flies at this point in your life.

Don't leave garbage around. Clean off any food remaining on counter or around the house . Use a fly swatter to keep killing them too. You can use sticky paper for awhile also.
Do you keep the door & windows open? Keep them closed. Hope this helped.

Don't poop on the living room carpet. That will attract them for sure.
