"The Iranian regime under President Ahmadinejad has spoken openly about wiping Israel off the map, has fueled Hezbollah's terror campaign in the region and around the world, and defied the world community in its pursuit of nuclear weapons," - Mitt Romney, 2007.
Here's an article about Iran threatening to launch missiles against Israel: http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1189411419433&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull
They also want to launch them against America.
And here's an article about Romeny calling to bar the Iranian president from entering the U.S.: http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUSN1732478320070917?feedType=RSS&feedName=politicsNews&rpc=22&sp=true
So, liberals, amuse us all.
Look how many liberals defended Iran in this other question I posted: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Apiersh0slzPtRCObacGe3zsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20070918132302AAZS35p

Honest to God, the liberals are defending Iran over the U.S.A.
Imagine this was the 1930's and Hitler decided to point missiles at America or Israel.
What would your response be?
Surely, it wouldn't be to defend Hitler and say something stupid like: Where are Israel's missiles pointed?
If you point yours at me I'd reciprocate!
That's your so called American liberal at work today.

From right here within the US It turns out we ARE the one ones protecting females such as you. From right here within the US we pay attention not anything approximately different nations worried together with your plight. Here within the US all we pay attention is hatred in the direction of us. Here within the US we on no account pay attention or see any indicators of appreciation. I don't see any proof that Muslims are combating those nasty hate crammed hypocrites. But ,they certain hate the US once we do. I could consider the populations that reside alongside facet of those haters will have to do extra to eliminate them. That way kill them. And as for the liberals ? I pay attention a reformed liberal say "liberalism is a intellectual sickness"

Oh good grief, here you go again with your lies and accusations that simply are stretching very far to find what really isn't there. This phantom you seek doesn't exist.
How can you say liberals defend Iran. There is no evidence of that. Just because we don't have an itchy trigger finger and know better than to start bombing but prefer diplomacy and sanctions doesn't mean we favor Iran. One minute I read righties talking about Zionists and Jews and next minute they want to defend the enemies of the Zionists and Jews. It is all the psychobabble of the right trying everything they can, grasping at straws trying to save their president's legacy and not to lose in 2008. You have too little too late. You guys should have thought of his legacy and yours way back 7 or 8 years ago. Instead you forwarded a very unpopular agenda and now you gotta pay.
God Bless America. We need all the blessings we can get with Dubya and his gang in charge.

I don't defend Iran, but I also don't believe Ahmadinejad is as foolish as he sounds. If nothing else, Israel has demonstrated over the last half century that they can defend their citizens and their land quite well on their own.
I think he's bluffing; he's taking advantage of a power vacuum in the Middle East with the fall of the Iraqi regime and is attempting to assert Iran as the Muslim leader in that region. But I have a hard time imagining that he'd risk the complete destruction of his own country, and an even harder time imagining that he believes it wouldn't happen should he launch a missile at Israel or the US.
But I could be wrong.

You mean the United States should get in deeper out there?
A pre emptive attack on Iran to save Israel from Iranian threat.
The same sorts of threats they have been getting since Israel founded?
From one of the many countries that also want Israel blown off the map?

I don't think any of those responses defended Iran as being better than the US. They simply are letting you know it isn't a threat to us.
Have you heard of this country called North Korea?
Or how about Libya? I know Bush is best friends with Libya now but... well I'll just keep it a surprise for if you read about Libya.

First of all, stop making generalizations. Plenty of liberals don't buy into anything the media is saying about Iran or our need to invade it. I'm one of them. Opposing one action doesn't mean you're defending the opposite.
This question is a perfect example of a "straw man" argument, a basic logical fallacy. It's also very sophomoric rhetoric and warmongering, which has been going on for millenia.

Let me guess
Anyone that disagrees with you is a liberal
According to your profile...you live in the greatest country in the world.
Yet you have contempt and venom for over half of it's population (and you continue to do your part to make it a place we can all get along)
I know .....you must be one of those "great americans" that haven't a clue how to get along with the rest of the world, except by force, and greed

Yeah, I looked at your last question and failed to see ONE response which defended Iran.
oops.....try again.
So, are you a patriot of Israel? If so, why are you residing in the US? Shouldn't you be joining the Israeli army so that you can help defend your nation against Iran and Syria?
Obviously, you need to take a good look as to which country you swear allegance to.

The fact that you say this makes me absolutely sick. I'm a liberal, I'm Jewish, and I ardently support Israel. It's sad that you would extend this sort of argument to people like me, people you don't know. I spend most of my time on these forums defending people of different political preferences against arguments like these that serve only to bash other groups of people. Seems you spend your day throwing insults at others.

Defending over the US? People were pointing out that those missiles are pointed at Israel, not the US. Unless Israel is now part of the USA, I don't see your point.
