With the vastness of the Universe it is not only naive of us to believe that we are the only life form, it is negligent. However, the possibility of the planet Earth having been 'visited' as such is highly unlikely. For example the next nearest star to us is Proxima Centauri and is around 4 ly away. That equates to a round trip of around 8 years if it were even possible travel at light speed, which it is not.
That being the case, if it were possible that a civilisation has the technology to make it as far as us, they would let us know they were here!
For such a civilisation to exist, they would have advanced well past just coming here without contacting us.
By Earth years, such beings would be 100's if not 1000's of years old. Even if they had conquered light speed (which btw is impossible) it would take about 20 years for them to reach us. The reason I say only 20 years is that is based on the nearest Earth-like planet is only about 20 light-years from us. When I say Earth-like, I do not wish to confuse you. The use of the term Earth-like only really refers to it being a terrestrial planet, not just gas. However, if they had only even managed to reach 99% of light speed, it would take them far longer than 20 years to reach us.
This is just a very simplified explanation and by no means the only reason, why we have NOT been 'Visited' - either recently or even "at old days".

There are many supposed sightings, such as at Roswell in 1947. But no one has ever found irrefutable evidence (at least that the public knows of). Many think that there must be aliens somewhere, due to the vastness of the universe. For example, scientists are discovering planets orbiting distant stars every month. Given enough stars, there is a good chance a planet orbits that has the right conditions to develop life!

Hmm...seriously... I can see the possibility (however slim) that there may indeed be other forms of life in the universe that we are currently unaware of.
Or, were you talking about the aliens who are hanging out on the street corner babbling in a foreign language I don't understand?

Check this out: http://www.crystalinks.com/ufohistory.html I believe in them because there are way too many witnesses, pictures, and videos.
Also if you think about it, there universe, as we know it, is endless and extends trillions of light years (how far light travels in a year). Now think of how many galaxies there are, besides the 1,000 we know of already (which is a huge number). Now think of all the planets and suns are in each galaxy (picture about 5-15 planets and 1-5 suns in only 1,000 galaxies). Now add it all up, and you would think that AT LEAST one planet will support life such as maybe microscopic, at least one that supports normal life such as some kind of animals, and one that supports intelligent life.
Also, earth wasn't here before evrything else. Where do you think our life came from? Microscopic organisms from asteroids, comets, or anything else? Also, there were lots of planets that went through the same proccess as ours to create itself, which emans they have a big possibility to harvest life.
Many people don't believe in them because TV, movies, and media emphasize it way too much. They feel like they're believing in a talking lion, scarecrow, and tin man, which would make you seem crazy.
The thing that sepperats that from extratterestrials is that these were an actual concept thought up of people going as far back as the cavemen, and there is way too much proof.

I think so. I mean, there are a lot of eye wittinesses, and reports of alien spacecrafts. Who knows, maybe aliens helped build the Pyramids.

I don't think they do. And I mean, there is plenty of evidence that they do. I might be surprised though if they do invade. I am just not supersticious like that. LOL! Look at this site!
