I met my girlfriend on eharmony.com, and I've been with her for 3 months now. I don't see anything wrong with it, but she's embarassed to tell people and has been telling her friends and family that one of her friends introduced us. Should I go along with that or should I tell people the truth?

Is meeting people online that way weird? Or a sign of desperation? I don't think so...I found that I met nicer people there than I ever did in years of going to bars and clubs and the like.

Oh, btw, I am 25 and she is 26.

There still is a stigma attached to online dating. She is embarrassed. I see no reason why you can't help her out by telling a small white lie to make her feel better.

This one has flashing red lights all over it. Get out.

Don't go to bars & clubs to find a spouse. Go to someplace wholesome, someplace nice people meet. You're only going to find party animals otherwise, and when the party's over, the animal left over may not be the same person you thought she was.

Go to a church or synagogue, a baseball game, an amusement park. Go to an art gallery or shopping on the strand or a new bistro or coffeeshop.

i think that you should go along with it, maybe she is just scared what people will say about her.

She is probably just afraid people will judge her and you because of it.
