I think if it's to abort a pregnancy that was caused by rape or if the mother and child's life is at risk yes. I don't think there is a high percentage of those types of pregnancies and those mothers choosing to abort their child. I think unfortunately it has become a way out for a lot of people and there are other options out there than killing a life.

I am against it, simply because I believe life is a gift from God. It is brutal and not as "clinical" as they make it sound, like it's "just a procedure". There are risk factors and abortion can cause irreversable damage to a woman.
If it was a case of a 12 yr old being raped, I can't say making a 12 year old carry her rapist's child to term would be right either. I think in an extreme circumstance, you have to decide the better choice between 2 evils. I wouldn't want to be the one making the decision.
If I had ever found myself pregnant as a teenager or unmarried or in a disadvantaged situation, I would not be able to go through an abortion myself. I personally don't see a difference between a baby at 10 weeks and 40 weeks - still a living person.

I don't see how the opinions of random strangers on Yahoo can help you write a paper... Please do some real research on the topic of abortion before writing your paper. Many people have opinions that aren't very well-informed. But I will answer you anyway, for whatever it's worth.
No, I don't think abortion is right. At the moment of conception, a baby is its own unique living creature with its own unique DNA. A baby has a beating heart by 3 weeks after conception. A baby has all of its major organ systems formed by the end of the first trimester (many abortions are performed after this). A baby never asks to be made. It may be the woman's body that the baby is living inside of, but it is not her body that is being destroyed in an abortion.
(yeah, I know, bring on the thumbs down).

No i don't think anyone should... i don't even think that there should be abortion and if you have to get one it should be in an extreme case... if you were dumb enough to go sleep with someone without protection or anything then its your own fault... that poor Innocent fetus did not ask the people who make poor choices to do it... you should have to learn from your actions and if you think its not for you then give your baby up for adoption so a family who cant have kids and really want them can adopt them... cause then your giving someone a love they will never be able to experience on their own... that's my opinion... good luck with the paper

I don't believe in abortion but I don't believe the right to choose should be taken away from anybody. In some cases it is the right thing to do such as cases where it puts the mother and baby at severe medical risk (such as ectopic pregnancy.)
If someone was fooling around and OOPS! got pregnant I think it's the height of stupidity, not to mention irresponsibility to abort. I think that because people aren't made to look at the consequences of their actions (and not just in this instance) it has become more and more socially acceptable to "casually" abort a fetus and THAT I don't agree with.

think about it this way. The baby has a heartbeat at week 5-6. That makes them human right? If we killed a human baby that was born 1 hour ago it would be considered a murder but if they allow the mother to abort the baby what is that saying? The state is allowing these women to murder their babies and its just plain wrong. =]

It depends on the circumstances. I personally would probably never do it. But I find it understandable if someone did it who became pregnant after being raped, if the baby or the mother had life threatening/major health problems, if the mother was mentally unfit (such as being mentally challenged), or if the pregnant person was very young, say around 13.

an abortion is totally wrong! its a murder. just think, a baby ready to be born, when it is killed! its soooooo sad, and the baby has nothing it can do. if i didn't want the baby i would have it anyway. if i couldn't keep it, i would put in in a orphan home so that it can be loved. i dont think it's ever right to kill someone, especially something as innocent as a newborn infant.

I don't think is right, I think is muder. I used to be pro choice until I got pg and when to my 1st ultrasound at 9 weeks and, saw tiny arms and legs, full beating heart, heard the heartbeat, and realized even though is as tiny as 2,5" it is already a baby, and since I'm against murder I'm against abortions. Good luck with your paper.

I was at the doctor getting my routine pregnancy check up and I was over hearing the doctor and nurse talk about a patient being sent for an abortion. It made me so sad and upset that that baby was going to die! It doesn't make any sense to me.
