You can remove the lock from inside with ease, Take it to any hardware store and have it re-keyed to a new key or if you have another key you use for the house you can have it re-keyed to that key. I am sure you can do it.
Good Luck

Do you need to fix the door ...or the lock? what exactly do you need? If you damaged the door while trying to take the lock off you can buy brass door hole plates, they cover an area where the lock gos.if the lock hole has been damaged... Lowe's, sells doors ask some one in that dept about them or the hard ware dept.

My tenant lost more keys than I care to remember. It's cheaper to replace the lock than it is to call a locksmith to
re-key. If your able to do this yourself it won't cost much.

Either replace the lock--not to expensive, or call a locksmith and have him make a new key (or two!)

You can either have a locksmith come and re-key it or replace the door hardware.

Need I say MORE? I will anyway. If you can get the knob off, take it to the Hardware Store. Most will re-key it for about $4.50- $7.00. That's what I charge to do the neighbours. (Well actually I don't charge them ,it's so easy to do only takes about three minutes)
