Their brain is different. Thay can't produce the protein that enables speech. The difference is VERY little, but a simple change enables us to speak.

their brains and mouths are not made for speech. it's not their vocal cords, it's their tongues and teeth and lips...the parts of the body that actually are used to form the sounds.

Their hiyoid bone hasn't sunk in their throat like ours has. Maybe we are gorillas with sunken hiyoid bones.
