Dravid may have thought that the most opportune time to step down is when your record is good. he has just won a test series against England. If he would have contijnjued and lost the series against South Africa and Pakistan there will be lot of backlash against him and he may have even be sacked as Captain.. He may not have liked to take a risk and decided to quiit when the going is good.

No thats rubbish..........he clearly stated that he wanted to step down on a high......and India's first test series victory in 21 years in England was good enough for him......and as for your talk that he feared attack on his family after a bad series to Australia..........thats rubbish....infact all players will be equally worried about that..........but I don't think that will happen...the Indian public is mature enough.......

no not at all, as we all know he left the captaincy because of the politics of board and their unprofessional approach.
if you remamber prashad the bowling coach also given the statement on the selection of munaf and agarker so this was all frustrated dravid.
