Why is it that women often refer to their female friends as "b!tches" as terms of endearment, and will laugh about it, but when a guy uses the word, the same women will get mad?

Can this be compared to how certain blacks (usually the younger ones) will call each other the "N" word, but will get mad if whites use this word?

You must be in the circle to use it without it being offensive. If you are not in the circle you would not understand. I don't use it . I have but I find a better way to express myself now. I wish everyone did.

You've hit on it. When a word is used by one group to raise itself above another, it always sounds a lot worse coming from group a than group b. There's any number of words that are like that: n--- and the rest of the racial slang, sl@t and its synonyms, *****, f@g and dyke (more words that are also being taken back by their communities). *****, when used by certain men and women even today, is a word used to keep women in their place, to keep them acting like Nice Girls. Hillary Clinton and other female politicians are b!tches more often because they have the nerve to speak out.

Yes because women dont really use that word as a derrogatory form. Just as the n word is used within one culture but is frowned upon in another. Think about it this way men called women b*tches because they were to do whatever the man asked, women dont do that to eachother. And if a white person uses the n word a black person gets pissed because the whites originally used that word in a manner that was racist.

Due to its intention and history behind it. Words are different when directed at specific people. A white person calling a black the N word brings up the historical racist correlation, while a black calling another black the N word has no racist connotation. The same goes with b!tiches, women and sexism. Your mother may tell you to shut up but does that mean it's OK for everyone you don't on the street to tell you to shut up too?

Because its a thing with certain cultures and even friendships where they have a common understanding that they can use a such word towards each other and not get mad. I know of gay men who call each other the "F" word and its cool but I would never step out of bounds and call them one too. You have to really know that person like that to use certain words with. My friends and I go way back and if you hear the words we call each other you would be in disbelief lol

ok i'm getting that your annoyed and rightly so. How ever I gotta say yeah adult males and females human beings could be purely associates. maximum adult adult males will attempt to be a "chum" to a woman for extra motives then associates yet some adult adult males would be a chum just to be a chum. additionally purely reason the guy needs that does no longer mean the lady needs it so which you gotta have a sprint have confidence in case you are able to no longer have confidence her you need to besides no longer be along with her in any respect. yet your suitable this is not any longer suitable that they get mad as quickly as we've woman associates.

Well, it's not simple and it is at the same time. Well in actuallaty or as far as the people from the schools I know the girls that are friends call each other Biotch3s (3=e) not b!tches because that'd mean that the girls hat eachother. (as far as I am concerned) Basically the girls think its racist of boys to say that to their friends. It doesn't bug me though because I really don't care I just call people friends. With guys at the schools call each other betches (no I am not joking) I don't know why really but that's my therory from my friends.

It can also be compared to the way we (or at least all the guys I know) call each other d*ckhead and @sshole and nobody's offended but if a girl were to call us this we'd be a little upset, especially if she seemed serious.
It's different coming out of someone who is your best friend. Have you ever noticed that gays do that too? They call one another "b*tches" all the time, just like chicks. Weird, but I guess it's all just human nature.

I have to agree, I have no idea why the heck they call each other beyotches. I certainly don't do it with my friends, I think it's very rude. If I was ever called it, I'd still take offense. But I see all these girls do it, so I'm with you, I have no close. Same thing with the "N" word. I guess we'll never know!

I would say so. Some people find it offensive if people use words that they feel don't have a "right" to. I think in general people are getting way to worked up over words. What concerns me more is the context the words are used in and not the word it self.

The word "*****" mean a female dog. When a woman uses it toward another woman, they may mean that the woman it is directed to is a woman who just wants sex, and that's all. Is that what we are made for? Yes! If a guy calls a woman a *****, it is an insult because the woman might not look at herself as being "a *****" a female dog that just wants sex. We are more than that. We have a brain. also. If a woman is a "*****" then the man is a "bastard" or should be, anyway. Huh?
