I moved into my landladys flat 6 months ago, at first she gave me a three month tenancy agreement when the three months were up she then gave me a lodgers agreement with out telling me it was changing. What is the difference? I pay £400 a month inclusive of bills, but i heard that as a lodger she can only take £350 a months plus should provide me with meals, (which she hasnt provided) is this true? If so what can i do to get my money back?

But didn't you agree to agree about the agreement.

I mean wasn't there a vineyard owner, a long time ago, that went to the market in the morning to get workers. He offered them a couple of Denari for the day and they accepted. Then he went back after lunch and offered some other workers a couple of Denari for just working the afternoon, and they accepted. But when the workers that had worked since early morning found out that they had got the same money as those that had worked just in the afternoon they complained that they had been cheated, but it was only what they had agreed to.

There's no legislation about how much you pay or what facilities you receive as a lodger; I don't know where you heard that, but it's wrong.

It's all down to what arrangements you have agreed with your landlady - some provide meals, some do not, some do laundry, some do not, etc . . .

I have never heard of a lodgers agreement and I would suggest that what you can or cannot do would depend on what the agreement said. It would also help if people asking legal questions would say which country they are in.
