Well the reason I asked was I was trying to have a convo. with this guy I like and he said he wouldn't consider talking to me because I was too dark. And that he only date light skinned black women on a count of they look better and got better attitudes. Which I can't really understand because I dont really put beauty and skin color in the same category. Neither do I put skin color and attitude/personality in the same category. WHY ARE SOME BLACK PEOPLE TODAY SO IGNORANT?

This just shows how stupid,ignorant,clueless,dumb and foolish some black people can be. Really, sometimes I feel ashamed of being black. We are 1 people, 1 nation and we are separating our own RACE? It used to be black vs white. But suddenly it's light skin black vs dark skin black? What kind of sh*t is this. I've never ever heard a white man saying: Oh no I'm not dating her she is too pale or too tanned. This is EXACTLY one of the reasons why we as black people can't move forward. Some of us are too busy with USELESS things like this. Don't mind him. Let him go. He isn't worth it anyway

Disliking someone or having negative preconceptions about someone because of the shade of their skin is racist. I think it's really lame. I wish there were no "light skinned" or "dark skinned". I think it's funny how one person who has a dark complexion will say "you're light skinned ,girl"! to me and another who is darker will say the opposite.
Beauty has nothing at all to do with skin shade/color!

I don't really look into the skin of a girl. Whatever one I find attractive, Dark skin or Light skin, I'll be in love with her.

Actually I tend to prefer dark-skinned sistas.
Like you said, the guy you were talking to made some ignant statements. Do not let ONE individual get you down.
There are a wide variety of preferences that black men have, but I'd like to think that most of us are not hung up on light vs. dark.

Personally I think Kelly Roland looks better than Beyonce.
Also I don't like light skinned girls as much. They are usually the loudest and the ones that brag the most about looking good because they are dark skinned. I'm a hot guy and I prefer dark over light but I prefer hispanic chicks over every other race. This is how I like girls.
Hispanic
Asian
Indian(ex. middle eastern)
American Indian
Hot European Foreign chicks
Black and white are about tied
mixed girls(ex. half white and black)
I don't care what color you are because if your a hot chick, your hot and sexy!

im white, but i would think its because its harder to see their curves and bone structure of there face, that accentuates their beauty. Unless in perfect lighting, you just see dark brown and 2 white eyes. and the hair is almost the same shade as the skin, which we arent used to. But trust me, Ive seen dark dark skinned girls, that halle berry would be jealous of. So Beauty is what you make of it.
