Hi dvcgurl.
Don't listen to those people who are saying it's too early. I plan ahead too. I like to look festive on christmas day so I prefer the second outfit as it has some green in. It sounds comfy too, which will be handy.
The first outfit sounds cosy too though, so maybe you could wear that boxing day?
This year i'm wearing dark jeans, dark red satin pumps and a dark red cashmere v neck sweater.
Good luck and happy holidays!

Sseriously??? I understand planning ahead, but this is just ridiculous. Have you ever heard of taking it one day at a time? Let's make it through Halloween, then Thanksgiving. Heck, how about we wait until Fall actually begins before we start planning for Christmas.
Oh, btw, i like the second outfit. Sounds cute and comfy. Since it's at your place this year, does this mean you're cooking? If so, you might want to choose a non-sweater shirt (the kitchen will be hot!!!).

Both ideas are good ones. Black is always a good color because it is on the formal side, the gray cashmere is also good because of the material also makes the article of clothing either casual or dressy.

Go with the 1st. The 2nd is just too much black for Christmas.

Wow, you really do plan ahead. I wish I could be that organized and on top of things. Can I make a reservation for 2 for your house on Christmas?
