DVD Burner implies that it connects via an IDE ribbon.

SATA DVD Burner connects via a SATA connector.

You'll probably notice a bit of a speed increase with the SATA connected drive.

Most newer motherboards use SATA connectors but often have an IDE connector for CD/DVD devices or older IDE hard drives. NOTE: Older is a relative term here...IDE is still around but manufacturers are migrating to SATA for the performance improvement. Oh, SATA cables are thin and round versus IDE which is thin and wide (a ribbon). This is important for air flow through the case so SATA offers improved air flow for cooling.

There is no real difference. The only difference is that the SATA drive connects to the computer's motherboard with a SATA cable and the other burner connects using an IDE cable. The two have the same functions and work the same way. You can use either one, just make sure your motherboard has a SATA connector if you use the SATA burner.
