i have been told this is trouble with my head gasket by some and others saying its a water/coolant pump fault, there is no foamy substance in the coolant tank, any answers would be great.

I would suggest you go to a RADIATOR shop. You apparently have a leak in the transmission oil cooler. It would be very difficult for engine oil to enter your radiator. Stay away from dealers

If it's engine oil in your coolant it is most likley a bad head gasket.If it's an automatic transmission it could be transmission fluid,if it is,then the cooling coil in your radiator could be bad.You need to take it to a garage and let a mechanic check it out.
