I am due May 7, 2008, about the time when the spring semester will be ending. Right now I am taking internet courses for the fall semester. My question is, should I continue taking internet courses or would it be okay to take regular classroom courses as well? Has anyone else gone through pregnancy while going to school, and did your professors work with you if the delivery conflicted with clases/exams?
Thanks in advance for any helpful info!

I'll have different professors next semester, when the pregnancy may be an issue, so I will probably get to speak to them in January, when the new semester starts.
Thanks for the advice so far!

most professors will work w/ you but speak to a counslor as well just to see what rights you have. most colleges consider preg a med condition and make adjustments for such.
good luck

well, I kinda know where you are coming from. I too was going to school while pregnant. However, at the time I did not have the option to take internet courses. SInce the option IS open to you, if you are concerned, I would continue to take them.
My professors did work with me to a certain extent, but trust me, after a while, they do get tired of making accomodations. My son was born 3 days after my final winter exams...so lucky timing.
But trying to schedule around school did become a pain, because when I was pregnant, I had to go to a clinic for my checkups...and they only offered the checkups on Tuesdays...and between all the women aside from me, it really did become tricky.
So enjoy your online courses...and make sure to take the summer off. I was not able to, and it almost killed me. I went back to school when my son was only a month old...a few days shy, actually.
Good luck with your pregnancy and upcoming baby:)

I'd talk to your professors but know more than one person for which the delivery conflicting with class schedules has been an issue and they've had to drop all classes. And so they should because it's not like they had no idea they'd be giving birth at that time and they spoke to no one about what would happen. Good luck.

I am in the same situation right now as well. I found out I was pregnant 3 weeks before graduating with my bachelors degree. I went ahead and graduated of coarse and decided to go back and pursue another degree as well. I am due December 25 and the fall semester ends December 20. I am taking classes in the classroom and all of the teachers know when I am expecting. they are working with me! As long as I go to the scheduled classes and not miss excessively I will be able to miss the last weeks of school if I need to. They are working with me very well. Just try and not schedule your Dr's. apt during school classes.

why the frenzy? college is confusing sufficient to do, no longer to point being pregnant or having a baby. Your toddler will deserve all the attention you are able to provide. college will soak up a good number of a while and potential. i'm an entire time college pupil (probable pregnent, no longer planned) yet i would be graduating in might and the toddler does no longer be due till July. I learn plenty and many my time is spent at school that i could no longer think of doing this, working section time AND being a discern. you're inquiring for advice so my advice is to hold off till you're complete with college and then have a toddler. it particularly is going to be plenty much less confusing and supply you greater time to dedicate on your toddler, yet ultimately, its your decision.sturdy success with in spite of you determine to do.

I too was pregnant during college. If you want to take regular classes I would go ahead. All my professors were very understanding about my pregnancy and I ended up only missing one final, which the professor let me make up.

Been there bone that! My professors didnt work with me in my experience. I went to college and took internet courses for my masters and it was HELL! I was miserable the whole time. Being a mom and schooling at the same time really sucks!

My mom had that problem, her pregnancy wasn't that easy though. She was is in college, one month pregnant and throwing up every 15 min. She had to drop out that same month. I would suggest you keep doing online courses, only because depending how your pregnancy is determines how often you will be able to do your school work. I hope this helps and I pray you have a beautiful and healthy baby.

I took Internet classes, 12 credit hours worth, one semester. I gave a kidney to my brother...the professors I had understood and made accomodations for me....
Ask them now....see if you can't get a list of your instructors and give them a call! Can't hurt! Good Luck

I used to serve coffee at a college and pregnant women were all over campus. If you happen to go into labor early than professors are more than willing to work with you. It's actually better to be on campus in my opinion. That way it reminds the teachers daily of your "condition".
