Yes! Have a fright night fest... Get together all of your ghoulish movies and watch them in the living room. Set up the lighting so it is dim, decorate the living room for the full effect. You may just start a tradition that you will enjoy for years to come! :)

You didnt mention how old your girls are, but I think that having a party instead of trick or treating is a wonderful idea. Make some holiday-themed invitations in the shape of pumpkins and have the girls hand them out to their friends. It might also be a good idea to talk to their parents about having a safe and fun alternative to going out. Maybe even the other parents can bring candy to the party and hand it out to the kids so they still get the experience of going out.
Here are some more ideas I have thought of, I hope some of them will help you!
Have a costume contest and have the prize be extra candy.
Make up candy bags for all the kids. Just fill a brown paper bag with some treats and decorate them with orange and black.
Guess how many candy corns are in a jar.
Bob for apples.
Have someone do face painting.
Play pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern.
Use string to hang up some donuts. The first person to eat their entire donut without using their hands wins!
Have toliet paper on hand and have the kids dress each other up like mummies.
Have construction paper, string, glue, markers, etc... on hand for mask making.
Put out some orange play dough (you can even make your own! just google it!) and let the kids make whatever they'd like.
Cut a large hole in the top of a pumpkin. Give the kids mini candy bars and have them toss them into the pumpkin. They can keep whatever they make into it! Give consolation prizes for kids that dont have good aim :)
Stuff clear plastic gloves with popcorn or candy corn and give them away as favors.
Get those fake cobwebs from any store and put them all over the place for decorations.
I hope this helps!!! Have a happy Halloween!

you might construct a small spook house for them to go thru in the back yard, you know very dim, they reach into boxes to "feel" things, like jello, cold spaghetti noodles, cold hard boiled eggs, and have halloween sound recordings playing. Nothing too spooky, but they might have fun with that.
A costume contest is a good idea, but make sure they all win something. A fun game we played when I was a child was sitting on balloons, there were little papers put inside the ballon with the name of a prize on it, you had to sit on the balloon to pop it in order to get your prize. You don't mention the age level, but there is always jackolantern carving, and bobbing for apples, then dipping the apples in caramel. Just a few ideas, hope you all have a great time.

Serve witch hat cookies! Take Fudge Stripe cookies and glue Hershey's Kisses on them with orange frosting.
You could also make up some halloween goodie bags, with candy to keep for later, and plastic toys and blowing bubbles. The site below has an excellent selection for cheap.
You could also do face-painting and watch a movie.

Well you could search on the internet for some halloween games or recipes. You could have a contest for the coolest costumes, or see who can guess how many candy corn are in a jar and whoevers closest wins. Thats about all I can think of now.

You can tell them about the true roots of Halloween. See the links below. Now, that's a really scary story!

Play some halloween games, I'm sure there are a ton of games of you google it. Invite relatives and friends over and tell them it's a costume party, too.

You could also let them dress up, even though you're staying home.
Scavenger Hunt!!!!!!! yay!
What you could also do is when someone rings the door-bell to trick-or-treat let THEM give the candy. When I was nine my sis and I would always fight to give the trick-or-treaters candy.
Let them pretend their room is their house and let them fo trick-or-treating to each other's rooms.
Hope this helps!

I know you're going to hate this but you have to let her go. I have the same problem. She won't ever think about me or talk to me again and I wish I could just understand that. You need to do it also.
