This was funny.

The reality is that I would support anything that would cure those ailments.

Seriously, though, most people that I know have the same opinion as Bush does. The media spins the truth. Few are against embryonic stem cell research (Bush is not against it either) they are against govt. financial support of it. One other thing that the media does not tell you is that adult stem cell research produces the same result in almost all cases, so why embryonic? A liberal excuse to justify abortion.

farien...so you actually say that socialism and communism is "sanity, reason, and good sense"?

phil...freed the slaves - republican policy and president did this.... ended child labor - I have worked since I was 11, and see no problem with it......gave women the right to vote - granted...... ended segregation - are you out of your mind? The dems were absolutely segregationists..... created the movement to protect the environement - which is so radical at this point it closely resembles a bowel "movement" ....., prevent cruelty to animals - did not seem to slow down Michael Vick (seriously see the environMENTAL movement) ..... and begin to end descrimination against gay people - few people want them discriminated against. Sane people do not, however, want them given any special rights.

No.

Neither left nor right is sufficient justification to create and then destroy a precious life.

Use adult stem cells, which are much more effective in research...and avoid your Hobson's choice with the false promise of an embryonic stem cell cure-all.

Embryonic stem cell research can lead us to curing diseases such as diabetes and help discover new treatments for people with degenerative diseases like Parkinson's. I'm not for stem cell research only because it prolongs peoples lives. I'm for it because people suffer from these diseases. Any compassionate person would want to end anothers suffering, yet we still cannot approve funding for this research.

*I never suggested that adult stem cells did not work or were worse than embryonic stem cells. Research in BOTH of these areas is very promising and what scientists learn could help treat patients suffering from certain diseases.

Since embryonic stem cell research does lead to cures, I'm going with a definite yes on that one. And since the stem cells used are ones heading towards the dumpster, it would be a tragic waste to not use them when positive gains can be made. A huge offense to the world would be to carelessly throw them away when they can be used to save lives.

Embryonic stem cell research has shown no progress whatsoever. Adult stem cell research is what is working. The former is carried out by junk scientists operating on grants for monetary gain. The latter is performed by doctors.

Depends on the source.
If they had to depend on destorying embros.
NO
If they used other source like cord blood, amonitic fuilds, and afterbirths.

FYI: The score now stands at 73 cures using adult stem cells and 0 for embornic stem cells.

What a silly question: Using medical science to cure a political belief. That makes about as much sense as a President stopping research on stem cells because it doesn't agree with his religeous beliefs.

Too bad most the research could come from sources that do not kill a fetus. Lord knows there are enough other cells that could be used. As for stating it has cured anything, please cite your sources cause last I have read it was only theory, which does not prove it has cured anyone of anything.

There is no chance that embryonic stem cell research will result in a 'cure' for sanity, reason or good sense. Therefore I will still support it and even if it WOULD result in such a cure, it wouldn't apply to you.

Liberalism is not something to be cured. Its what freed the slaves, ended child labor, gave women the right to vote, ended segregation, created the movement to protect the environement, prevent cruelty to animals, and begin to end descrimination against gay people.

Fight it all you want. Progressive liberals will continue to drag conservatives kicking and screaming into a better world.
