Somebody gives you a penny one day. Then twice that the next day. Then twice that the next day. How much money do you have on the 25th day? How do I do this? I tried writed it down but I got to something like 25632 and that was only the fifteenth day!

1 +2^1+2^2 + 2^3 +..2^n + ..+2^24
This is a geometric series with r = 2
The sum is (1- 2^24)(1-2) = 2^24-1

1 + 2 + 4 + ----

1 + 1(2)^1 + 1(2)^2 + 1(2)^3 + 1(2)^4 ------- 1(2)^(n-1)

nth term = 2^(n-1)

25 term = 2^(24) = 16777216 pennies
