Now we have al Qaida in Iraq offering a bounty for the killing of a Swedish cartoonist. Really, where does it end? When is the rest of the world going to say enough is enough and start getting more aggressive with muslims?

I agree with Gurlee, Greg H and Paperback. By the way, Gurlee, I do recognize that not all muslims are nutty like this. I also don't condone the actions of the cartoonist. That being said, I do think that it is the special responsibility of peace-loving, normal muslims to become aggressive with their radical brethren. They are dangerous people who either need to be thrown in jail or killed.

i do no longer think of that this has brought about the international to recognize Islam. merely the oposite, it has shown that no longer something is going to make that place end committing crimes against humanity. there's no democracy which will paintings in those countries. it particularly is a tragic actuality, yet it particularly isn't any longer the persons. they arrive to united statesa. and have not problems obeying our rules. they do no longer revolt or do the flaws they do in different countries. basically i for my section do have self belief in the event that they did a revolt in Texas over some small ill conceived naming of a teddy undergo or different ridiculous incident they might probable be shot. That merely does no longer be tolerated and that i think of they be attentive to it and so as that they do no longer do it. What happens in France and the united kingdom does no longer be frequently used right here.

Well said.

In the UK we see this all the time; the media and politicians tip-toeing around radical Muslims and treating them with kid gloves. Not one newspaper in the UK agreed to print the original Danish cartoons, which I thought was appalling and cowardly in the extreme.

I'm assuming that all 'moderate' Muslims would be HAPPY for the world to take a tougher stance against Islamic extremism. After all, the extremists are hijacking this religion.

We must stand up to the radical elements within Islam, because history has shown us what can happen when we stand by and do nothing.

Bounty is not the absolute way to settle this matter. We should really talk, negotiate and most important, respect each other beliefs. The cartoonist is guilty for not respecting Islam but not necessarily we kill him as punishment because this will bring outrage to this world and then war will start again. We don't want this to happen!!! World Peace guys!

I'm sorry you feel this way.
I want to apologize behalf of all the DECENT muslims
who think what al-qaida says and does is bull crap
Believe me, i feel this guilt and hurt inside my heart when i hear this.
But i do think the cartoonist insulted our faith to get publicity and that isn't right.
But muslims should not take their anger out on him like this but instead talk to him and question why he would draw someting like this.

For people brought up valuing free speech, an execution for a comic drawing is barbaric. I do not believe, however, that Al Quaeda is the voice of Islam. If the real voice chooses not to be heard, no matter the method of choice, the nature of the dialogue will remain barbaric.

Why the direct hatred of a specific group individuals seen as the representation of a group as a hole?
Besides how often do people really really hate a work of art?
Do you think the statue of Michael would be shown if it was made in some parts of the world?
How about the Venus D Mailo?

Nut jobs exist in the world.
Sadly some have guns.
Even more sad when they hate us.
Worst of all when they have a good reason to hate us.
Though why they would want to kill the artist borders more on pathetic. The artist will not be harmed.

We all need to be brave and fight for traditional western values. The Islamists' main weapon is terror but we've faced down terror before and we've got to keep up the fight at home and abroad. This is worth fighting a civil war for if it comes to the crunch.

As long a Muslims remain a "yes-but" group, nothing will be done. They "say" they condemn extremists and violence "but" they always find a way to "explain" their violent point of view.
