If you want to paint you must use primer. Any good primer will do. Plywood is rough, primer fills in the unevenness to a certain degree. But do not expect too much. Test it. If it does not work you can try elastomeric paint which also evens out imperfections. If both do not work, a 100% solution is 1/4 inch drywall nailed on to your plywood wall.

A good one, for sure, the better the primer the easier job you will have. I like Dunn-Edwards "Ultra Grip" primer. One coat and it is ready for anything

Eskie is absolutely correct. I like Zinser products. I also often use KILZ, even in it's oil base it can be painted over with latex.

Any kind of sealer. It goes on white but it covers everything. We used Bin but there are cheaper ones at WalMart.
