Well I just had my 2nd US today and the baby was not cooperating I just feel like crying :( I was so psyched to buy stuff this weekend and get started on the babies room. When do you think the doctor will do another?

Don't worry! I had the same thing happen to me. My husband and I went when I was 17 weeks and she was doing everything she could to hide herself. So we went home not knowing what we were having. Like you I was anxious to set up the room and have a baby shower. At 24 weeks the Dr. ordered another U.S. to make sure the baby was developing proportionality and to get the estimated weight and to measure my amniotic fluid. This is a routine thing that Dr's. do around that time. See how the baby is growing and need to measure your fluid. So don't worry at about 22-24 weeks They will need to get the babies weight and measure your fluid. That is when we were able to see that she was indeed a girl. So you will have another chance. Also, I was told that they do another at about 30 weeks and 35 weeks. You have more chances...I PROMISE!!!!

My doctor only did 2, one at 8 wks to see if everything was ok and their was a heartbeat and then one at 20 wks to check size and sex if i wanted to know. Luckily i have a very hyper baby and her legs were wide open! BUT you can always choose to do a 3D/4D ultrasound, i did one and it was amazing! The cheapest package they offer was $150.00 and they gave you a dvd of your session (anywhere from 10-30 min scanning), lots of pics, and the sex of the baby, and the good thing about those places is if your baby wont cooporate they allow you to come back and only charge you like 25$ for the time. You can go anywhere from 15wks until 40wks and its not like a doctors office, you usually can get in the book for 1-2 wks from now! The way i got started was, i just went to google and typed in 3D/4D ultrasounds and did my research and found a center near me. I only had to drive about 30 min away! and if you do go with this, definetly take anyone and everyone!! They allow a certain amount of people and its a great experience!! Good luck

Typically insurance will only cover two ultrasounds unless additional ones are medically necessary. Look for a 3d/4d ultrasound service in your area. They really aren't much more expensive than a traditional ultrasound and the pictures look awesome! They were much more expensive when I was pregnant with my two kids, but now I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I'm going to have one around 22 weeks just because they look neat (plus who knows if my little one is going to cooperate when its time for my ultrasounds!). In Houston, they cost about $150.

I only have to us with my 2nd baby 1 to find out how far along i was and the other to see if he was a boy or a girl and he wasnt cooperating either so i didnt end up find out wat he was and they wouldnt give me any more so i had to wait till he was born and he was a boy that was awsum to find that out wen he was born cuz with my little girl I new she was a g irl b4 I have her

Awww... I'm sorry.
You can request another ultrasound, but unless there is actual medical cause for it, you may have to pay out of pocket (insurance may not cover it.)

get a keepsake ultrasound from a boutique. They cost about $150, but if you really want to know then do it.

2 is usually the max.... unless there are problems.But you can ask for another one, it won't hurt. Good Luck!

Normally they don't really do them unless there is a issue.
