I can solve it in about 2 minutes with the regular layers method, but I want to improve my time. I've tried the Fridrich method and the Petrus method, but failed. Does anyone know of an easy-to-learn speed method that I could use?

well the one on the rubik website is pretty easy.. i used to solve it in less than a minute..around 44 seconds...after only 3 days of practicing..

Just mess around with the layer by layer and eventually you will find better short cuts
