Stop the ability of legislators to attach amendments to bills that have nothing to do with the original law.

Stop the use of overly complex, vague, redundant, or unnecessary language in written law.

Streamline the department of education.

Reduce the number and size of most gov't agencies under the executive federal.

Defend the southern US border.

Acknowledge the God of Judeo-Christianity and its role in the development of the most free, prosperous, and powerful nation ever to exist.

Introduce standards of hygiene in public schools so kids have a chance to avoid some of these viruses that keep going around, and around, and around, and around.

New Law: All government within the US will not consume or control more than 50% of the gross national product. And, implement it. That would be a start.

How about we go back to abiding by the Constitution and living up to the ideals that made this country the envy of the world?

Elect a president who actually follows the law
Stop the Republican lies about "voter fraud" since they can only get elected by committing fraud
End illegal wiretapping of citizens
Shut down the gulag at Gitmo and the secret black prison sites around the world
Stop the practice of "extraordinary rendition"
Ban lobbyists from Washington
End the illegal occupation of Iraq
Send our military after the people who actually attacked us six years ago
Fund research to get the US off oil permanently in 50 years
Drastically cut the budget to the Pentagon since it was created to fight global enemies and is out of touch with current realities

When you've done all that, let me know. I have more.

Make sure that the president is the one who gets the most votes
(not like in 2000, but Jed Bush has something to answer for there!)
Scrap the electoral college to get true proportional representation.
The winner should, in other words, be the one who gets more individual votes than the rest, not who get the most states.

Another thing would be to restrict the amount spent on campaigning. This would make for a more level playing field
and lessen the chances of the president being in the pocket of obscenely wealthy corporations or special interest groups.

Vote every single republican out of office. That would be a good first step to preserving American freedom and democracy.
