Who loves social security and medicare? I sure don't. And I wonder if Democrats realize that the Constitution give the explicit right to the Federal government for defense.......

Not all Americans love those institutions. The problem is that most Americans don't realize that medicare and social security were supposed to be temporary solutions. I was born in 1980, and I will not get anything from social security. These institutions are failing us, medicare is just one step closer to socialized medice, which sounds like a great idea until you look at Canada and realize they pay 50% of their paycheck to taxes and have 4 cat scan machines in the whole country. You might like these things, but you might also be dependent on the government to get by. I do support our military, always have. I do not agree with the government supporting its citizens with socialized care.

I don't. I resent having to pay social security, particularly since I'm not going to ever see a dime of it thanks to the democratic resistance to doing anything about it's rapid fall into the red and their insistence that I not be able to turn those tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars of life time investment into a real retirement rather than the pittance I most likely will never see.

As for medicare? That's just wrong. Becoming the surrogate parent of the people has NEVER been the role of government in the United States.

And the military is socialist how? The common defense? Nope, sorry. Look up the term 'socialism'. You'll learn something.

the only Americans that "love" these entitlements are those that are on them. It is not the job of the US government to provide social security, medicare, welfare, or health insurance. It IS their job to protect the borders, and protect the citizens from the state and local governments.
Step #1- Liberalism- make the people think the government cares.
Step #2- Socialism- make the people dependent on government.
Step #3- Communism- make the people fear the government.

The repubs hate social security that is why they have stolen from it to cover the huge deficit they let the president run up. They hate medicare because it helps the poor and unfortunate get the medical attention they need, but they love the military. It's the only socialist program that helps line their pockets.

Some Americans do but after they are exposed to socialism they tend to turn away from it. For instance in Chile, Peru, Argentina there were socialist governments at some point but all those American nations eventually turned away from socialism. The same is happening to day in Venezuela and Bolivia.

Soc sec will be bankrupt in 20 years. medicare will exceed the entire federal budget by the year 2060. Loving something or not a failed program is nothing more than a failed program.

No, you love socialism.. don't confuse yourself with "Americans."

And FYI, the military is not a socialist institution.

And social security is an idiotic program that we're stuck with because too many people have "invested" in it as their sole retirement plan. Think about it.. it's telling the government "here, hold my money and if I live long enough give some of it back."

No, just lazy liberals. And they are the ones using force to make others work for the benefit of others. Sound a lot like slavery doesn't it? No one ever accused the party that still supports KKK members of being against slavery!
