not at all.... it has NOTHING to do with color, and EVERYTHING to do with skill.

If you suck, they will talk about how you suck, and not how you suck because you're black.

kind of reminds me when Kanye West lost on the MTV awards, and claimed he lost because he was black.

It may seem that way, only because we still use race as an issue. I bet if everyone was just referred to as a quarterback, instead of black quarterback...it really wouldn't be much of an arguement. If you're good, you're good. If you stink, you stink. Simple as that.

Having said that, I don't think there's a higher scrutiny between QB's. Right now, McNabb's problem is he's been often injured, hasn't been producing results, and generally hasn't looked much like a Pro Bowl QB since the Eagles went to the Super Bowl (where I think it all started). Bottom line, he hasn't been producing. It almost appears that his team was carrying him all these years instead of the other way around. McNabb has also not performed the way a team leader should (back to the McNabb-T.O. incident). When you're the QB, you become the face of the organization...the team leader. The same poise you show in the pocket facing an all-out blitz is the same type of poise you should show when dealing with your teammates. Unfortunately, McNabb missed that one....then missed it again when the Eagles drafted Kevin Kolb (another drawn out episode). Ryan Leaf is a perfect example of this, and last time I checked...he wasn't black.

Randall Cunningham and Warren Moon never faced a higher scrutiny, and that was during an era where there weren't a lot of quarterbacks that happened to be black. Those guys may have never made it to the Super Bowl, but no one ever doubted their ability to play, or lead their team (the proof is in Canton, OH for 1 of the aforementioned).

I think black QBs receive less scrutiny then white qbs because some people are afraid they will be cause a racist if they scrutinize a black qb. Vick was a way below ave as a qb but all you ever heard about him was how "athletic" he is, and how he "is the most exciting player in the NFL" His passing numbers are horrid and when he runs he get hurt like any NFL qb would, thats why qbs don't run as often in the NFL. In college you can get away with it, but in the NFL you have 250lbs LB's running 4.6's, 290lbs DL running 4.8's and 220lbs safties running 4.4's, there is no where to hide. People have been climbing down Rex Grosssmans and E. Mannings throat and they had a better QB rating then Vick did last year but people arent afraid to trash Rex or E. Manning. Not to mention its ok for people like charles barkley to trash people on tv because of there white skin color and people laugh and thinks hes funny, but if someone makes any comment at all about a minority they are labled a racist and kicked out of the league. I absoluely don't think QB's or any other athlete comes under more scrutiny for being black.

Yeah, Philadelphia activities followers are very severe of any member of any Philly team who has a foul activity/play/season. indexed right here are some non-black examples of Philly activities figures, some superstars who have been given blasted; Mike Schmidt Eric Lindros Von Hayes Mitch Williams Ron Jaworski Pat Burrell Santa Clause. If we had Brett Favre as a quarterback he may be continuously criticized for throwing reckless interceptions. If we had Payton Manning up till final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days we could have been hollering to commerce him by using fact he could no longer get to the super Bowl. Donovan gets compliment while he performs properly and grievance while he throws the ball off music all day, purely like all team chief who has a $one 0 five million settlement would desire to. i think of he's purely oversensitive to grievance and that's how he justifies it.

No. Look at some of the most criticized QBs the last few years ..... Plummer, Pennington, Favre (last year especially), Carr, Grossman, Eli Manning to name a few........all white. At the same time Vick who had horrible QB numbers still got by because of his running abilities. Maybe McNabb sees it because it seems every black QB that comes out of college lately gets hyped up to be the next NFL superstar. I like McNabb and thinks he's a good QB but I think he is wrong on this topic.

No. You get comments like that when the person hired(McNabb) cant do the job. He certainly cant admit he is not as good as others at QB. Guess its easier blaming his race then his abilities or lack of at this stage in his career.

No thats a bunch of BS if you ask me. He's loosing his edge and is scared he's gonna be ended in his career by better playing QB that just may so happen to be white. I hope when he is gone he is replaced with a great black QB and see how that makes him feel. If ya ask me like a jack ***! Thats what he is being. A big friggin sissy!

Actually, they get scrutinized less. Aside from the dog fighting, Vick had absolutely pitiful numbers (except rushing).
