Well, I don't know if you have heard of it or not, but my kids (same age) like the Eragon series. Go here http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/002-9009717-3408824?initialSearch=1&url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=eragon and check out some of the different books. You need to go in order though.

Emily Drake has a series much like HP but it takes place in America.
Jane Lindskold has her 'Wolf' series which she just finished with her last book.
Dennis L. McKiernan has several series out that you would probably enjoy.
And on another note, any book you can understand, whether it is a teen book or an adult book would be a great book to read.

Mary Jo Putney and book 1 is A Kiss of Fate and book 2 is Stolen Magic or the Eragon series is supposed to be good. My friend's daughter read them. There was one other she said she really liked... something about spider webs or something. Wish I could remember the name!!!

I also started to read the Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan when I was about your age... there are like 9 books to it now... it is more fantasy like the Hobbit sort of thing though.

I have answered this question so many times, I decided to dedicate a web site to answer this question. Here it is:

http://www.life-after-harry-potter.com

Included is a list of only the best sorcery fantasy books, grade reading level, a short review of each book along with a brief summary of adult content. There is also a "Reader's Choice" list of favorite books, and a list of heroine sorcery fantasy books.

I hope this helps.

If you haven't read Tamora Pierce, you should give her a try. Start with The Song of the Lioness quartet.

You might like Garth Nix's Abhorsen trilogy (Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen). Or Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass).

a fantastic trilogy (with a movie coming out) is the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman. They're "The Golden Compass ("The Northern Lights" in Britain)" "The Subtle Knife" and "The Amber Spyglass". Absolutely a wonderful set of books that are fantasy. Also, they seem almost childish, but still deal with the Lord of the Rings style of battles and kingdoms and such is the "Redwall" series. "Artemis Foul" has a couple good books too. a story similar to HP is the "Charlie Bone" series. hope this helped, have fun reading :-)
