I see this question at least ten times a week here in different forms, and frankly I'm sick of it, so with a little inspiration from other posters - especially the 'femtroll' kind - I want to ask it in a completely different way.

If being gay really is a choice, then when will the straight women who think so finally realize the part they played in having guys make that choice in the first place? After all, a choice isn't something you make unless you're forced to, or unless you have a limited range of options. And if being gay is a "choice" with so many "good, Krischun women" out there, why would anybody choose it...unless the alternative were undesirable for some reason? (Looking forward to a "flock of trolls" on this one...)

Point well made, A79! But you're assuming that trolls and HypoChristians (often one in the same) are remotely interested in science, which they've proven time and again that they're not. If it doesn't justify the twisted values they cling to, they're not even remotely interested.

Which, BTW, is also what Gaymes said. Bravo, Gaymes!

O.K. , for those of you who still think that being gay is a choice let me explain something to you. When you are being conceived in the womb you DNA is made up of your mother's (who is a female and produces estrogen) and your father's (who produces testosterone) DNA like a custom sandwich thus creating a custom human being. Sometimes the estrogen levels are too high which causes (in males) to have a higher pitch voice, act very feminine or cannot grow a full beard or have chest hair, etc. If there is too much testosterone (in males) they tend to be hairy and quite aggressive with a deep tone voice, etc.

In females if the testosterone is too high they tend to have facial hair or hair in places where they shouldn't, etc. If the estrogen is too high they tend to have squeaky voice and are very feminine with full lips, small noses, etc.

Now with that being said, don't you think sexual prefference lies somewhere in the decision making of your DNA? Don't you think for one second that someone chooses a life or ridicule and being picked on for no flipping reason? Do you think that people wake up one day and say "you know, I think I'll be gay today!" That is not how it works. I knew since I was 4 that I was attracted to both female and male sexes. How the heck does a 4 year old even know what sexual preference is?

Being gay is not a choice. Some girls get crazy during college or spring break and kiss other girls for fun, no big deal. If they didn't have it in them to be curious they wouldn't do it. It don't matter if they end up with a guy in the end, they still find the female body attractive.

Open your eyes and your mind to the possibility that your hair color, eye color, skin color and sexual preference is decided by your DNA before you are even born.

The point is, trolls don't care what one's opinion is on the matter of whether sexuality is a choice or not. Or any other fact for that matter. You should not get so riled about the many posts clearly put up here to rile up a hornet's nest. Relax and enjoy answering the questions you really like. Ignore the trolls, they are not worth your time.

Considering all the "it's not a choice!" answers that are posted, you DO pose an interesting query, the answers to which probably have not been entertained. What could ANY of the reasons be for "choosing gay"?

1) For guys: preferring musicals to football

2) For either sex: being allowed a broad fashion latitude

3) For men: bitter, overbearing women

4) For women: ego-maniacal, slovenly men

My, my, my. The list is endless....

Good question!!!

Direct them to the professionals too. The APA are actually qualified to say whether its a choice or not (which they've determined it is NOT) since they've actually done several studies in to it and research. Unlike an uneducated moron with no biological or psychological knowledge, but who blindly believes a bunch of hatred that's been spat at them by bigots with even less knowledge about the true facts concerning sexual orientation.

I heard a preacher in Louisiana say that most gay or lesbian are not gay but they are just horny and looking for relief that they don't get at home.[from there wifes or husbands]or from there girl /boy friend.

"good, Krischun women"

Absolutely priceless! Bravo!

But we can't forget their good ol' boy brothers who've made millions of women "choose" to be lesbians. Actually I think they've made several million run screaming in fear.

Well, being gay is a choice, no matter what people may theorize. I have known people who claimed gay as their orientation and then changed their mind. And really, who you are sexually intimate with is a choice you make.
In any case, I say live and let live (or die, as the case may be). I think sex between two men is icky and wroing, but people are gonna do what they want to do. However it is my understanding of scripture that God condemns it as immoral (that's what Sodom and Gomorrah's problem was) and thus we are called to avoid it.

"good, Krischun women"

Oh...that is freaking funny!!!

And you are correct...a choice is made when someone puts a label on you...last time i checked...i didn't choose to be hated or discriminated against just because of who i love!
