Is it blowing hot air all the time or only when you first start the car? If it's blowing hot air all the time then the thermostat needs to be replaced. If not then..all you need to do is wait it out until the condenser gets caught up and, it should blow cold air after that.

Remember when you start an engine the "normal" operating temp (the middle of your temp gauge) for my car its like 250 degrees. If it reaches the "normal" temp and is still blowing hot air it needs to be looked at. I would recommend getting a Chilton's or Haynes manual at your local auto parts store and, buying the thermostat there as well. It ends up being much cheaper in the long run if you have to tools to replace it. If not pay someone you trust to do it. It's not that tough a job.

Good Luck.

It could be a number of things. first thing is to see if the compressor is running. If it does not come on when you start your air conditioner it could be low on( freon) refrigerant it has a low pressure switch that will prevent it from starting if it is low. If it comes on it could still be low on refrigerant. If it come on, and runs, and has refrigerant the valves in the compressor could be bad. Most new cars take R134a which you can buy at Wal-Mart, or any auto supply. One other possibility is that your heater may be stuck in on position. Check these things first anything more than this will probably require a mechanic.
