Shhhh they're having a WAR on science too

And there are just as many scientists that disagree with 'your guys' or don't see it as the crisis the Chicken Little's of the world see it as. It's not that we don't believe that the Earth is warming...apparently you didn't get the memo, they're calling it 'climate change' now so you need to change your bible...it's just that we don't believe that it's the tragedy or the crisis you do. For example, why is the average temperature of the Earth 10 years ago the optimum temperature of the earth? Why is it essential to keep the average temperature at that level? In it's history, the Earth has been much warmer and much cooler. In fact, the most densely forested areas on Earth are in the warmest parts of the Earth. So why is this a 'crisis'?

Next point, these same irrefutable bodies were running around shouting about the coming Ice Age 30 years ago. What ever happened to that? Could they have been..oh my gawd!! Wrong?

Last point, the worst case predictions say that the oceans MAY rise 17 inches by the end of the century. Um, yawn. So what?

Bottom line, if you want to believe in this religion, fine. But don't flog me into church. The Consitution protects me from being forced into your state religion.

Umm, volcano ERUPTIONS can put more C02 in the atmosphere than man has in the past 60 years. Additionally, the ash and water vapr that come from volcano eruptions further effect global warming. 80% of global warming is due to cloud cover and water vapor (water vapor makes up 90% of our atmosphere). How does that cause Global Cooling again?

You see, I do not dispute Global Warming at all, I have taken two meteorology classes in my college years and got high As in both. Man Made global warming is what I have a problem with. I used to believe in Man Made Global warming, do you know what changed my mind? Not discussions like this or any person in particular, it was my first meteorology course. Upon learning that we can barely forecast weather 7 days from now (mostly due to the chaos theory) and that we NEVER know exactly what the weather is like at any given moment, on top of the fact that the temperature increase has only been 1 degrees, which no living human could detect. Add all of that to the fact that C02 is only 0.032% of our atmosphere, and isn't even considered a gas in our atmosphere (it's considered a trace element), plus an understanding of long and short wave radiation, how cloud cover and water vapor reflect heat back INTO space BEFORE they enter our atmosphere, how they keep heat IN our atmosphere and the fact that global water models show no rise in sea levels and I just don't buy it.

you have have been given to think of correct to the comprehensive image; this is not any longer purely ash it quite is ejected from a volcano, what correct to the parts of water vapour, carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide ejected? The ash will reason a non everlasting cooling exceedingly if it maintains, yet purely until it extremely is deposited. it would take a volcano the dimensions of the Deccan traps to make a markable effect on the flowers and creatures of the earth so a methods as ash cloth is worried, and this does not final continuously. although, the gases ejected will take longer to degrade back to equilibrium and so the perfect result could be a upward thrust in worldwide warming and extra sea upward thrust. yet lower back, the volcano isnt quite that massive interior the grand scheme of issues, volcanoes are ordinary place in tectonically lively factors.

I still want to know who I can blame for the last Ice Age - Alaska used to be a temperate climate.

I don't know anyone who denies that the earth is in a warming cycle right now, but it has warmed and cooled itself for years - before man came on the scene. I think we certainly need to take care of our planet, but to think we could stop natural cycles is the epitome of arrogance.

Such a big deal was made out of the 1600 scientists who signed a letter warning us about the "devastating consequences" of global warming, but you sure as hell didn't hear much about the SEVENTEEN THOUSAND scientists who signed a petition stating there is no convincing evidence that greenhouse gases will disrupt the earth's climate.

Yes.
And most scientists disagree with the Global Warming Hoax.

The trouble with all the data on global warming/global cooling is that you can always find someone to interpret it to the favor of either extreme.

There have been cycles of global warming and cooling throughout history so how can any one cause for it be pinpointed?

There is no clearly discernible agreement among scientists on the causes or the effects of global warming. There is no evidence to date that suggests that global warming would be a bad thing if it does or is occurring.

I am a conservative. Consensus is not fact. Large numbers of people believe there is man made global warming. Some believe it is harmful.
Real scientists acknowledge that there is no proof of man mad global warming and no proof that global warming is harmful.
When you come up with five million years of global temperature readings, you can get back to me.

Interestingly, the national academy of sciences also said we were going into an ice age a few decades ago. Something to think about..

Remember 1816: that Indonesian volcano exploded a year before and caused severe frosts in July.
