i didnt wash all my sons, even though people told me too. I think it would be okay, just wash bottles, or binky's first.

I'd wait. I say that for several reasons. If this is your first, you probably have more outfits than you'll ever actually need. If you wash everything, that means you'll take the tags off. I guarantee that at least half of the outfits will never actually be worn. No tags mean you can't return them. Go ahead and wash the everyday kind of stuff though. It doesn't hurt to wash beforehand. It gets rid of any possible germs or yucky stuff that may be on them and you can wash a LOT in one load. (the first included link offers many reasons why you SHOULD wash clothes before you wear them)
With my first, I washed EVERYTHING.
With my second, somethings I washed, others I didn't.
With my third...... I'm so busy, I just take it off the hanger, rip off the tags and pull it over his head. lol
Also, there's no need for the expensive baby detergent unless your baby has particularly sensitive skin. This is a PROVEN FACT! As long as you use a detergent that is dye and perfume free, your baby will be fine.

Yes yes yes!! Make sure you use dreft or one of the "free" or "clear" types of wash for sensitive skin. You baby might be ok with you not washing the clothes but you never know. You don't know what your baby is going to be sensitive to or not. And it's better to be safe than sorry. And baby clothes are all so little...is it that big of a deal to do two loads of laundry before the baby arrives?? Like I said better to be safe than sorry because you'll never know what his skin has reations to. I had an uncle that when he was a baby he was allergic to his own urine...and no it wasn't because his mother left him in a wet diaper for to long. If he was in a wet diaper for even 5 minutes he broke out in hives all over his poor behind. Everyone felt so bad for the little guy and it wasn't because he wasn't being cared for properly...it's just he had extremely extremely sensitive skin. All his clothes had to be put through a second wash cycle as well. Good luck and congrats on the pregnancy!

well, it is always a good idea to wash your babies clothes before he/she first wears them, mostly for sanitary reasons. You never know who handled the clothing...their hands could have been filthy...or someone may have dropped the item on the floor and stepped on them. ANything is possible.
Besides, washing the clothes will not take that much extra time...and it will prevent your child from being exposed to the numerous germs that may be on the items.
You never know...you child already has a boost of your antibodies that will allow it to fight off anything that it may come into contact with, so the choiuce is really yours. I don't think that your child would become ill from not washing the clothing the first time she wears it, but I have always been skiddish of items if I do not know where they have originally been, know what I mean?
I would just go ahead and wash them, though:)

If you are asking should you wash your baby's clothes before they wear them YES. You don't know who or what touched them at the store before you bought them and most of them are covered in chemicals to keep them looking nice in the store until you buy them. If you don't, you could give your little one a huge rash or make them sick.
If you are asking Should you wash all the clothes you have for your baby up ahead of time NO. You shouldn't wash ALL the clothes ahead of time. Just a few. Because you don't know if your baby will get to wear them all or not so just wash what your baby will actually be wearing. Maybe that's all of them, maybe it's not. If your baby doesn't use them, you can sell them for more money on Ebay or whatever if they are new with tags or return them to the store you got them at with a receipt of gift receipt.

I always do but it is your opinion and your choice really. The reason I always wash them is because at the store you see people touching and picking up the clothes and saying ohhh how cute...and I don't know where their hands have been. And all of the people and machines that touched the clothes in the factory and then in shipping to the store...that is a lot of potential nastiness so that's why I always wash clothes before they are worn.
Good Luck!

congratulations on transforming into a daddy!!! :) particular continually wash keep offered clothing earlier use, they have a super type of chemical compounds and starches that are too solid for babies dermis. you ought to use ANY laundry detergent, you do no longer ought to purchase particular infant ones and you do no longer ought to apply detergents for senstitive dermis except she has a reaction. maximum babies use everyday detergents merely superb. For the 1st wash, use the detergent because it says on the packaging. For very nicely here washing of the article that is a stable concept to apply in user-friendly terms a third of the detergent you may in many cases use. that is sufficient to scrub the fabric and make it hygenic back with out waste. As infant would not get grimy or overly sweaty etc their clothing do no longer require as a lot detergent. additionally, fairly of making use of fabric softener you ought to use white vinegar. it incredibly works a similar yet is a lot extra value-effective and works as an added "detergent buster" that's super too. merely fill the fabric softener area with the vinegar. particular wash the mittens and socks too - and each little thing infant will positioned on (even hats). Have a dazzling time with Arissa :) and be helpful to take a image of all her TINY little clothing and socks putting on the line -- i like how the pegs are extra beneficial then the socks --- so beautiful!

Washing brand new clothes before letting your newborn wear them is a must. Think about all the germs and bacteria on them. You should wash all new clothes until they turn 1 years old. Then you should continue to wash all under clothes before letting them wear them. In fact you should breed them to do the same thing. For that matter you should wash all of your under clothes before wearing them as well. If I had your E-mail I would send you an article that would change the way you think forever. It did for me.

There is absolutely no reason why you have to wash baby clothing before use, even stuff you just bought. If you want to freshen clothing that has been stored, just throw into the dryer (I don't use dryer sheets as I have contact allergy with them). All they have on them is dust. Clothing from India may need a wash because they have sometimes been sprayed with insecticide.
I would wash plastic stuff like bottles, because they may still have mold release in them. Think about it. Do you wash all the stuffed toys before you give them to baby? I doubt it!

Question:
Do you think that where clothes are made there might be some: ants, coakroaches, beetles, etc?
Do you think that they wash the fabric before mkaing outfits?
Do you think they forget to wash their hands and then continue making the clothing?
I say there are bugs, don't wash fabric, and at times don't clean their hands = wash the clothes!
I recommend washing it, you never know if the people who shipped, arranged the clothes on the stores had their hands clean. For a newborn to wear?!?!
na ah, prevent is better than cure

Yes - wash all the clothes. Clothes are usually finished w/ a starch spray to keep them wrinkle free. This can irritate the skin.
Washing them will also help soften the fibers a bit & make them smell fresh.
Don't you wash your brand new clothes before wearing them? Don't you prefer the smell of your own laundry to the retail store smell?
