I didn't see Kathy Griffin, so I can't comment on her, but Sally Field got bleeped for saying "G** D***" and I would guess the network didn't want to field a zillion complaints on that.

Sally Fields was trying to make a political statement,and that's why part of her acceptance speech got bleeped out.

As for Kathy Griffin,she was just trying to be funny.I don't know why people were so offended by what she said.
