I've replaced the ignition switch, neutral safety switch, checked the wiring to the starter (shorting the solenoid turns the starter). It is a daily driver, my work truck, jumped in it Sunday to move it and nothing when you turn the key, no idiot lights nothing, battery is good ( checked with charger 100% 13.5 V)

I changed the switch not the cyl. I was at a loss as far as troubleshooting and used Chiltons online and tested everything they said to and their troubleshooter said it was either the ignition switch or the neutral switch ar the wiring to the starter.

It sounds like you've burned the fusible link in the small wire that runs from the positive post of your battery. If there is no small wire that runs from the positive side of your battery, it will run from the large battery post on your starter instead.
The fusible link looks like a fat part on the insulation, and if something shorts out it will cause the wire to break (although it is not always visible).
Find this wire and verify that the fusible link is burned (voltage on one side, no or low voltage on the other) and then look for the short circuit that caused it to break.

NEVER replace any part till you know the problem. Now then, when you short the solenoid with key on does it start ?Have you checked all fuses for dash lites ? Did you change ignition switch or just the key cylinder ? If it starts with shorting solenoid then your key is not supplying power to relay that closes solenoid (small wire on solenoid ) You have power to starter so work from there

Well you need to check the fuses and the relays make the the alternator is ok as well that can affect starting. If you have no power at and a good battery there is a poor connection or a fuse/relay somewhere possibly a bad wire but start with the simple stuff first. Do you have a test light? If you dont get one this a good diagnostic tool for this.

Have to trace the wiring to find out where the power is not getting through--start at the ignition switch and test for power in and power out when you turn the key to the on position---if no power in, I suspect you've got a blown fusible link wire or bad connection somehere in the ignition power circuit. If you get power out, then the wiring between the ignition switch and starter is suspect. Check for any burnt wiring and check the fusible link wire at the starter. No idiot lights coming on seems to indicate that the ignition switch is not geting power or possibly a bad ground. Wirediagram.com may have info on wiring schematics for your truck....small fee.

I have the same problem , I have been testing and retesting wire s . I can t tell if the fusible links are bad or not , they test fine on the meter and the continuity . I have tested the starter and the ALT. battery is at full charge.
I put in a new starter switch and it all started when i replaced the distributor went to start it and nothing happened only have exterior lights .

WELL YOU HAVE DONE ALL THAT YOU CAN........

YOU SHOULD GET THE VEHICLES COMPUTER SCANNED AND CHECK FOR ANY PROBLEMS AS WELL AS CODES AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD IDEA ON WHAT THE PROBLEM TRULY IS.

TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR A CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE FINDINGS AND THE SERVICE.

LEAVE IT THERE WITH THEM SO THAT THEY CAN FIND THE PROBLEM FOR YOU, IT WILL BE A LOT BETTER THAN JUST REPLACING PART AFTER PART AND NOT DOING ANY GOOD.
