Here is the problem-- A glider is moving a velocity vector Vg = 40m/s i - 24 m/s j when it enters the wind current Vw that blows due south with a constant speed of 20 m/s.
1) What is the i/j equation of Vw
2) What is the i/j equation for the gliders resultant velocity, and in what quadrant is the gliders velocity vector
3)What is the magnitude of the gliders new velocity vector
4) In what direction (in degrees) does the glider now head
5) What is the new azimuth of the glider
Ok, now i am completely lost and i have no CLUE what to do. I am not asking for the answers but an explanation of how to do each problem. Thanks
