I was wondering, a few things:

Which would be the best model, I heard it was the 98`?
I know AWD is better than the FWD, but I heard also that the AWD has a weaking trans?

How much would a good orgasmic blow off valve be to purchase and install (ballpark the $$ please)?

Thanks and please help ~~!

Acutally first gen is better motor, 2nd gen had the T25 Turbo and little bit higger comp pistion, if you got a trans problem becareful since your crank mike walk, I say AWD is best, look towards amsperformance.com

The best one to get is the AWD '91-mid '92. The 6 bolt 4g63t engine is a volatile powerplant and very mod friendly. After '92, they used a 7 bolt 4g63 that was prone to crankwalk. Pre '91 are ok, but they are bastard cars (try swapping parts from a '90 to a '92, it sucks). They later ones use a Chrysler 2.0L which isn't as goos as the 4g63. As far as a weaker trans, well, I'm not sure on that, but I can say that I have seen plenty of AWD Dsms running in the 10s and faster on a stock AWD trans.

as far as leaks on the cv unit would need a mechanic! awd has a cv unit under them... ten year old car will have leaks need to repair it good car otherwise!!
