Hi. He measured 7 d 12 m or 1/50 of a diameter. If he had measure 5 d then that would have been 1/72 of the diameter. That 72 times 5000 stadia equals 360,000 stadia.

if 5 degrees = y stadia
then 360 degrees = y*360/5 stadia
