I am presently facing an extremely unfair occurrence at my workplace. Several colleagues, including myself, have been asking for a raise for the last year with no result, except for one guy. Not only is he making more money than others with more experience, proven track record etc, he just got a promotion and a new office. To make matters worst, a few weeks back I came across his wife in the corridor. She was with the boss and he was kissing her against the wall. Now I thought may be my colleague was not aware of this, but at another time I saw the boss holding her waist while the three of them were talking together. I also remember how the boss was dancing with her at the office party last year. Now I think the reason this guy is getting all the favors is because his wife who is very attractive is sleeping with the boss. I want to if this is a common occurrence at the workplace? Is so what am I supposed to do against this?

What kind of man would let his wife sleep with the boss to get ahead!OMG I don't no what to tell you if your boss owns the company but if he don't report him.

Do nothing. It WILL all come out in the end and you don't want to be a part of it. NUnless your boss owns the company then he will have a boss somewhere and it WILL get found out (especially if you find some way of leaking it anonymously!) You must de-link your lack of pay rises with this - so, are you going to farm your wife out to the boss so you can get a payrise? Thought not. This is a scenario where the one with the pay is actually the unfortunate one. It may be that your colleague was biting his tongue when the boss put his arm round her waist - just to save his career. It may be that they are swingers! You'll never know. The only thing you can know is you don't want to be part of it. If you want more money or a better job or promotion then go and work somwhere else. If you want to play that game be prepared to lose your job.

Since there is no union to file a grievance with, the unfair treatments seems to be one of a moral failure on the part of the boss and either the female employee or both she and her husband.
Prayer by the offended Christian employees would be the safest and most productive first step.
Anonomously notifying a government agency that is versed in law concerning ways to handle sexual harrassment in the workplace might produce some legal alternatives for the mistreated workers.
Other than that, finding out whether the female employees' husband 'really' knows what is going on between his wife & the boss is a very sticky situation & I would advice anyone who seeks to find this out to proceed with caution. Even an outside inquisition could cause a major unheaval in this work-place.

There is nothing you can do because nothing is being done to you. It is common place for an employer to ease by on giving raises and/or promotion. You know it's a dog eat dog world out there and yes bosses sleep with co-workers wives and wives of bosses sleep with co-workers.

Sexual discrimination. Get a union lawyer and start filing a claim against the company, naming this boss. There are laws against unfair practicing such as the incidents you have described. Best of luck to you!

Er, no, it doesn't happen "everywhere" 'cept maybe in a freakshow.
This is nuts!! Are you sure you aren't putting together a series of random events and getting a convenient answer?
If you think you have a case, then keep a diary and take down times and dates of incidents you think are relevant then take this to HR.
Be warned that just because someone is advancing and you're not may be down to other factors and not something so seedy.

Well.....let me just say this. Regardless of what she may be doing with the boss and with the knowledge of her husband....aren't you glad you don't have to go so far as to corrupt and prostitute your morals and scruples for a few extra bucks.
The other guys wife? Well....she seems to enjoy her role as a prostitute and her husband is playing the part of her pimp to the hilt.
Maybe you should start checking the internet. Bet you'll find all 3 togther there. Wanna bet?

Find another job. No, this is not common. Most men wouldn't be okay with their wives sleeping with the boss, even for a promotion.

Well, if he is happy to sell his wife for a promotion, and the boss and the wife are happy to make it happen, there's not much you can do.
Your best option is to find another job elsewhere.

The boss can get fired for this kind of activity, it is COMPLETELY against work ethics and employee equality. The husband is a pussy in my opinion, cause his wife gets him to the top, which is REALLY pitiful, yet sad. You can report his activities and get him fired for such things... That's if you want to....
