"There's not that many African-American quarterbacks, so we have to do a little bit extra," McNabb told HBO in the interview that took place on August 31. "Because the percentage of us playing this position, which people didn't want us to play, is low, so we have to do a little extra."

The race card is always the biggest copout. He couldn't hit a receiver with an atomic bomb right now. Donovan, quit your whining and do your job.

McNabb is in Philly where they are STARVING for a Super Bowl. He brought them to three straight NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl. Expectations for him are high, and if he can't deal with them, maybe he should go play in Cleveland where nobody cares.

Remember that before last year the media was all over Peyton Manning for not winning the Super Bowl and for not beating Florida in college. Did he ***** and moan? No, he went out and won the Super Bowl and shut his critics up.

It has nothing do to with race, but it has everything to do with performance.

There are 31 other starting QBs in the league all with different factors determining the pressure and expectations they are facing. McNabb comments are short-sighted and simplistic. It is an easy answer for him to give because it shifts any shortcomings of his on the field to society, the media, etc. Take a look at the variety of pressure other QBs face.

Brett Favre: In Green Bay, the Packers are it, the media goes over every play and everything he says with a fine tooth comb.

Eli Manning: Big Brother, New York Media

Peyton Manning: SNL did a skit about him not playing well in the big games prior to this past year.

Trent Green: Being called out by Jason Taylor for being soft / injury prone even though he a 80+ game consecutive starting streak.

I don't buy into all that race-card crap. Fact is Vince Young won a National Championship with his Head, Feet, and his Arm.
Put Vince say with San Diego and what happens? Vince was drafted by a rebuilding Titan team and his progress is not bad. His passing stats are not that great but he leads the team. I watched the game last night and DM looked really bad. Not just bad at times, he was bad the whole game. He's the Black Quarterback everyone watches because he's the one the media focuses on. To me that does not mean he's the best because the media chooses him. He looks like he's just lost his heart for the game. Whether he's black or not doesn't and shouldn't matter. Anyone remember Doug Williams?

Apparently McNabb has never heard of Rex Grossman.

McNabb has been overrated from the beginning because he is black. He got all those endorsements because he is a black QB. Being a black QB has made him millions that he never deserved. Why didn't he talk about that? If he was white, he would have lost his job to Jeff Garcia.

Not many black QB's? Young, McNabb, McNair, Gerrard, Culpepper, Vick (if he wasn't going to jail), Jackson, Campbell. 8 of 32... sounds like alot to me.

He's going through a very tough time unlike ever before, he's still injured, had a bad year last season and things don't look to be getting better anytime soon.

McNabb is a punk. Jersey should've gotten rid of him.

It's taken a few years, but McLoser finally showed his true color( no pun intended ). I know one thing, if I were an Eagle fan I would be very insulted.
