She wants maintain a "friendship". My heart pounds, but my head says RUN FOR THE HILLS....nothing is happening here.

You are not going to have a relationship with this woman. She does not want to have sex with you. You do not turn her on. Sorry, but that is exactly what it means.
It ranks up there with, "its me, not you." Cause that means it is you.

There is two options. One is to give in and be friends. Its not a bad thing. It can be useful. Friends have alot of great times together.
Then comes the next option. If you truly love her, with everything in you; if you truly would go to the end of the earth just to send her a rose; if you would even die for her, then fight for her. Fight for her love.
Prove to her that love is worth it. Love is a choice. You choose to love and be loved. Chemistry doesn't just happen. Chemistry comes with a choice to be mixed together and have your paths criss-crossed.
Fight for her. With all that is in you. For all that she is worth.
Remember, "Perfect love has no fear." Think about that. See where God takes you.

It means, "I am not interested in you, but I don't want to come out like a jerk here for hurting your feelings, so I'll make some inconsequential complement, like -- you are a wonderful man, yadda, yadda, yadda." "Wonderful mean" is date-speak for "see ya".
