2005 chevy colorado?

I am looking to purchase a 2005 chevy colorado 5 speed manual, 54,000 miles that i have found close to my house in chicagoland. The asking price was 12,000. i came in yesterday and they said they would drop it down to 10,000 i said i would consider it they called back and i said if you got it down to 8,000 then we might have a deal. i was wondering if this is a descent price, and if anyone has an imput on the chevy colorados, and also if anyone knows the mpg, the engine size is 2.8L I-4cyl.

Need a real car like the next step up 5 cylinder!! and maybe a car not built in brazil! too look american products first! like dodge dakota or ford Ranger built closer to home! i think canada?
