Does anyone here know of any reputable managers in NYC? Have any of you had any experience with Marilyn Zitner or Marianne Leone? Thank you!

It works differently with teens, the manager usually hooks you up with the agency. A lot of agents would rather work with a manager. Marilyn Zitner is affiliated with Wilhelmina, I believe, among a few other good agencies. I just wanted to know if she was easy to work with. Thank you for your help!

Do you have an agent? You don't need a manager unless you have a career to manage. Like the doc said, if they charge any fees up front, run away as fast as you can. Managers generally take 15% after you get a job.

I can tell you that neither are members of the Talent Managers Association http://www.talentmanagers.org/members.php
but that doesn't necesarily mean they aren't legit.

Marilyn Zitner runs her own management company while Marianne Leone is with Terrific Talent Associates and they are a member of NCOPM (National Conference of Personal Managers) http://www.ncopm.com/

I've had no personal experience with them as I am on the left coast :-) but you should still check into them as much as you can includingwhether or not you really need their services as of yet. Check out the websites for the organizations that govern personal managers. It's not 100% necessary that they join them, but it's nice that they volunteer to obide by a certain code of ethics. You can check those out at the sites I gave you.

good luck!
