The first poster is right, be nice to everyone. Invite yourself to sit down with a group of kids you've never sat with for lunch. Move around from clique to clique just being friendly. Tell them you want to run and ask questions that make them really think about themselves in YOU. Like say 'have you ever run for (fill in the blank)?' They'll most likely answer no and so ask why not? Are they happy with how everything is going? If they could change ONE thing, what would it be? Personalize the convo with them. Don't be snooy though or play like you're already their rep. Be completely on their level.
Good luck!

There are always going to be grous that vote for the most popular person. Unfortunately that is the way it works in school because most kids haven't reached the maturity level to vote for who is best rather than the majority. I say be sincere, find a platform that means something to the kids at whatever age group you are in. SOmething that is going to directly affect them where they may have to take issue with it.

You're saying you "will" have good ideas... If I would be voting for you, you'd have to have good ideas now, not just hope you come up with some in the future.
Then again, it is only a school election.. *yawn*... J/K... Be outgoing, courteous, and make sure people know you want the position..

if i went to your school, i'd vote for the person with the good ideas, not based on their social status.
present your ideas well, and don't force them on anyone. remember, if they want to vote for you, they will and trying to force them might make them tell people not to vote for you.
take time for any posters/brocures you might make. if what you make looks good, people will get the impression that you're organized. if it's sloppy and last minute looking, people will think that's how you'll handle being the president or whatever position you're running for.
that's all i can think of now.. good luck!

I'm very sorry to say this, but there's not much you can do. High schoolers (well, humanity in general actually) are highly immature: they don't care one bit that your probably the best candidate, all they care about is that everyone is voting for the other girl.
Humanity is stupid they aren't worth leading anyway.

Dang that's tough, well, you should be honest first of all. And think of ideas that would be good for the school but would really appeal to the students. You say you have good ideas, put them to use already! :) Anything that would appeal to your peers could work. I wish you a ton of luck!!
