it looks like the Liberals in this country blame EVERYTHING on Republicans. The Democrats have a job to do and they know what to expect. They should quit grandstanding and make some constructive deals instead of throwing out Bills that will never pass. All they care about are headlines in an election year, and from what I see here, they understand that the Liberals will support this tactic.

You really need to look at that article again. That 33% is the approval rating of congressional REPUBLICANS. The congressional Democrats have 41%, which is much higher than Bush's 36%. Does that mean that Bush is doing a better job than congress? No, because congress is controlled by the Dems. Even if you factor in the congressional republicans abysmal approval rating, the mean still comes out higher than Bush's approval rating. Too bad there's so many Republicans left to drag down the congress...

Democratic Majority 51-49 which is meaningless.

Worst on record? No way! They've done everything they can do. They've stopped the rubber stamping by the GOP on this war and on the legislation giving handouts to Halliburton. They've created oversight that caused the downfall of Libby and Gonzalez as well as forcing other shady administration officials to resign. They've raised the minimum wage and passed a bill to fund stem cell research (but it was vetoed).

What they haven't done was put an end to the war, since they don't have the voting power to do it. We need more Dems. in 2008 and we'll be all set.

True, and your point is? The majority is one of the smallest in Congressional history as well. Republicans populate almost half of the seats. So if your point is to blame Democrats for doing a bad job, which they have, then place the same blame on the republicans. The blame comes from their inability to stop the war by the way, and the only reason the polls are worse for them now is because the war is dragging on further as we go along.

True but with an asterisk, see the public gets that there isn't a decisive majority and that republicans have admittedly obstructed (Trent Lott even said it was all they had) so I think 2008 is going to be a TERRIBLE year for republicans as the country sweeps even more of them out of office to effect the real changes the American people want

I believe that – Kelly B – is referring to the fact that nearly 1 in 6 roll-call votes in the Senate this year have been cloture votes. If this pace of blocking legislation continues, this 110th Congress will be on track to roughly triple the previous record number of cloture votes - 58 each in the two Congresses from 1999-2002, according to the Senate Historical Office.

And who is behind it? In his (their) own words:

“The strategy of being obstructionist can work or fail ... and so far it's working for us."

—Senate Minority Whip Trent Lott, R-Miss.

You're trying to over simplify a situation to make a "point", and "prove" people don't like democrats. True or False? A. People don't like Congress. B. The democrats have a majority. Therefore C. People don't like democrats. Your logic doesn't hold.

The Democrats didn't want to win in 2006.

They'd rather have had the Republicans take all the responsibility and blame going into the 2008 elections.

For the 4,356 time, they do not have enough of a majority to get past the Republicans. And the Republican members of this congress have a lower rating than the Democratic side. Did you just start your account on here?

What can you expect when you have to deal with the mess republicans have created for the last 7 years? It's a major clean up job. And by the time the next president is elected, there will be more dirt to shovel.
