Both. You can plan ahead all you want, but you must be flexible when it is warranted.

It depends on the situation. If I'm planning a big trip, then yes very good idea to plan ahead. If you're going to the supermarket it doesn't matter. If you want to spend a nice romantic evening with your significant other, then it's good to plan what you would like to do with your evening, but be flexible because things rarely turn out the way you plan. So I guess I'm a little of both. I like to plan certain things, but spontaneity can be fun.

I try to plan everything. Even if I'm going to the mall or something, I look at the new arrivals in the stores. If I don't plan, I feel kind of panicky!
